Maintenance Supervisor (Industrial Solutions)

Location

Hendersonville, NC

This position will be based at the BorgWarner Arden facility in Western North Carolina and will transition to a new facility in Hendersonville, NC.

All positions start at an above market pay rate for that position. Benefits are also above market and include the following for all full-time employees:

This position supervises and oversees the day-to-day activities which ensure that the facilities are continuously able to support all (production and non-production) functions, processes, and areas necessary for timely, efficient, safe, and quality production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervises and directs maintenance technicians.
  • Is an effective liaison between the manufacturing facility, Maintenance Technicians, and the Asheville Management Team.
  • Promotes, facilitates and institutionalizes Total Productive Maintenance principles throughout the facility.
  • Tracks and watches work orders and work order backlog to ensure machine up-time.
  • Facilitates effective utilization and operation of facility support systems (example - air compressors, vacuum pumps, sprinklers, chillers, etc.).
  • Coordinates all outside work for machine installation, repair, technical services, fork truck maintenance, etc. ensuring that all cost, quality, delivery, and safety standards are met.
  • Promotes and supports a teamwork approach to achieving safety, quality and production goals throughout the facility.     
  • Leads, motivates, and develops employees.
  • Ensures open and effective communications.
  • Directs on-going training and orientation of employees to improve work performance and ensure employees understand and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Promotes order, cleanliness, safety, positive work habits and a positive attitude in the facility.
  • Promotes 5S and continuous improvement activities to include project leadership and ownership
  • Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies 
  • Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies 
  • Communicates and enforces safe work procedures.     
  • Identifies and closes safety issues (suggestions, inspection and investigation findings) and their corrective actions.  
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
  • Maintain quality standards by following proper inspection procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to current health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Understand and adhere to current quality and control policies.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience supervising employees in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Requires at least 3 to 5 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or other related area at a manufacturing facility.
  • Requires at least one year of experience directly supervising or managing employees.
  • Must have strong technical skills. Knowledge of the National Electric Code, OSHA regulations, construction and building codes are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook) is required. 
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with 5S is a plus.
  • Attendance on the job is essential.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, safety rules and regulations.
