About the Role

We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team at our Newark, CAbakery. As a Maintenance Manager, you will be accountable for leading all maintenance operations, driving preventive maintenance strategies, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards to optimize equipment reliability and facility performance.

Shift & Schedule
  • Shift: 1st
  • Weekend availability: Required
  • Schedule flexibility: Must be able to work nights/weekends and adjust based on business needs


Compensation

Salary Range: $110,000-$145,000

Core Accountabilities (What You'll be Doing)
  • Lead and execute preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and maintenance costs
  • Oversee major equipment projects, installations, and facility upgrades to ensure long-term efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, OSHA, FDA, and other regulatory and safety standards
  • Manage maintenance teams, contractors, and training programs to build technical capability and safe work practices
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets while optimizing resource allocation and cost control
  • Implement work order systems, backlog management, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain facility infrastructure, utilities, and environmental standards (waste, air, and water quality)


Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)
  • Bachelor's degree (or Associate's degree) in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of maintenance leadership experience in an automated manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Experience with preventive maintenance systems and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and maintenance management software
  • Demonstrated experience developing and leading maintenance teams


Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)
  • Experience in bakery or food manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of GMP, FDA, BRC, and audit/inspection processes
  • Familiarity with CAD software
  • Working knowledge of Spanish
  • Experience managing capital equipment installations and facility upgrades
