POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq Logistics & Maintenance Services, LLC (ALMS) has an exciting opportunity for a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic - Generators at Naval Air Station in Pensacola, FL. The Generator Mechanic ensures the proper function of assigned machinery types through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repair.
  • Service and troubleshoot diesel engines, generators, transfer switches, lighting carts, uninterrupted power supplies and controls.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance generators, transfer switches, lighting carts, uninterrupted power supplies and controls.
  • Monitor periodically to ensure proper functioning and performance.
  • Load test batteries, check and repair charging systems.
  • Maintain Generator records with accurate documentation of service and repairs
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
  • Make recommendations to supervisor as necessary on the performance of all equipment.
  • Respond to electrical and equipment emergencies at any time.
  • Ensure that safe working conditions are being maintained in all areas.
  • Checks surrounding area for good appearance, cleanliness, and accessibility
  • Identifies and reports to Supervisor any discrepancies
  • Completes Work Orders and time sheets daily and accurately.
  • Initiates material requisitions to order parts/materials needed for repairs.
  • Work also involves other duties as assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of commercial/industrial generator experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generators, diesel and gaseous engines, controls, and systems, transfer switches and switch gear.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot & repair AC and DC controls and equipment such as engine controllers, Automatic Voltage Regulators, battery chargers, block heaters, automatic transfer switches and switchgear.
  • Must have advanced understanding of various generator components and their functions, including current transformers, relays, engine control modules, exhaust control technologies, voltage regulation.

Pay rate: $44.72 per hour

The pay range information provided is a general guideline. The pay rate offered will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as geographic locations, market data, and other business considerations, as permitted by law.
