Qualifications

• Proven leadership skills with supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
• Demonstrated supervisory and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the forest industry.
• Good knowledge of computer applications, specifically Microsoft Office.
• Mobile equipment knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise safety, quality, cost, delivery, and employee engagement.
• Ensure adherence to the Canfor Operating System, focusing on abnormality response.
• Manage safe and efficient log inventory handling and storage.
• Oversee the log quality management program.
• Maintain effective practices in scaling and weighing logs.
• Ensure the mill is consistently supplied with an adequate log diet.
• Maintain log yard and waste yard as per the Environmental Management System.
• Oversee mobile equipment parts inventory and cost controls.
• Supervise log yard and mobile shop employees.
• Ensure compliance with Ministry of Environment and Worksafe BC regulations.
• Oversee site and environmental compliance programs.
