Skills and Competencies
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in banking, financial services, consulting, product strategy, or commercial leadership roles, with deep expertise in commercial and corporate lending gained within financial institutions and/or banking solution providers
  • Experience leading customer discovery and senior client conversations, converting insights into differentiated value propositions and investment recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence diverse cross-functional stakeholders, aligning teams behind a shared strategic vision and coordinating execution to deliver measurable business outcomes in complex environments
  • Highly developed written and verbal communications skills and interpersonal savvy, with the ability to articulate compelling strategic rationale to diverse audiences
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively with colleagues and project stakeholders across functions and geographies
  • Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage multiple complex bodies of work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field required

Responsibilities

The Senior Director, Banking Strategy - Lending owns the medium-to-long-term domain vision for Lending within Moody's Analytics Banking Business Unit, translating strategy into measurable business outcomes.
  • Define and maintain the medium- to long-term vision, strategic direction, and priorities for the Lending domain, aligned with Banking growth goals and the Grow/Win/Monitor/Optimize customer lifecycle
  • Develop deep understanding of lending workflows, personas, jobs-to-be-done, customer pain points, target customer profiles, and differences across segments and bank tiers
  • Lead market assessment and segmentation, including market trends, regulatory developments, emerging technologies, customer needs, and competitive dynamics
  • Translate customer and market insight into a clear domain strategy, strategic use cases, value-chain opportunities, and recommended future-state positioning for Moody's
  • Lead domain-level build, partner, or buy assessments and shape investment priorities, business cases, and resource recommendations
  • Partner with Product Strategy to convert domain priorities into differentiated propositions and high-level solution direction
  • Coordinate execution across Product, Engineering, Data Estate, Advisory, Partnerships, Go-to-Market/Sales, Finance, and other Moody's businesses; surface dependencies and resolve strategic misalignment

The Banking Commercial Strategy team sits at the heart of Moody's Analytics Banking Business Unit, responsible for defining and communicating the core business strategy, achievements, and direction for the BU. With lead responsibilities spanning commercial and domain strategy, enterprise resource management, and reporting, the team provides the clarity and focus that enables our product, sales, and delivery functions to execute effectively. As a broad and diverse business, Banking requires strategic thinking that both reflects the range of our customers and domains while creating the conviction and direction needed to win. By joining this team, you will play a central role in shaping how Moody's Analytics leverages AI-enabled intelligence and data-driven solutions to help banking clients navigate risk and unlock opportunity across the lending lifecycle.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $198,300.00 - $287,550.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
