Full Job Description
The Staff, Learning Development & Production Manager owns the operational success and workforce direction of the Solutions Studio - a team of US-based contingent instructional designers producing learning content at scale for Expert Excellence. This role sits within Portfolio Strategy & Business Excellence and connects the content production function to the broader supply chain - translating intake commitments into delivered, quality-assured learning assets.

This role pivots from execution to oversight, ensuring that the team delivers high-quality, AI-driven learning experiences at scale for both domestic and global (India) operations. You will drive a 'connected studio' model, managing intake-to-build handoffs and ensuring that production meets established quotas and deadlines. By combining instructional design expertise with rigorous operational discipline, you will oversee the deployment of GenAI tools (Claude, LLMs) to maximize efficiency while maintaining Intuit's pedagogical and brand standards. You serve as the primary mentor and performance manager for our vendor partners, ensuring a zero-defect culture and continuous improvement in speed-to-proficiency baselines.

Responsibilities

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & MENTORSHIP
  • Directly manage a team of US-based contingent workers and vendors, providing coaching, feedback, and performance management to drive excellence.
  • Foster a culture of mentorship, upskilling team members in advanced Articulate 360 techniques and GenAI production workflows.
  • Manage vendor relationships and resource allocation to ensure the studio is appropriately staffed for peak production cycles.
  • Lead de-escalation and feedback sessions, constructively coaching contractors through complex project challenges.
  • Set clear professional standards and 'lanes' for each role within the contingent team to prevent role overlap and ensure intentional design.

PRODUCTION WORKFLOW & QA PROCESSES
  • Operational Oversight & Scaling
  • Oversee the end-to-end content production lifecycle for US and India expansion, hitting rigorous quotas and strict delivery deadlines.
  • Drive continuous quality improvement by establishing and monitoring QA gates, technical standards, and accessibility compliance.
  • Strategize and implement AI-native design systems and asset libraries to scale production capability without increasing workload.
  • Standardize intake-to-build handoffs, ensuring 100% adherence to Intuit Brand Identity and Content Standards.

LMS Deployment & AI Governance
  • Govern the use of AI agents in persona and asset creation, ensuring ethical standards and pedagogical integrity.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the GenAI tooling landscape relevant to content production and bring forward recommendations for adoption

MEASUREMENT & CONTENT PERFORMANCE
  • Analyze content performance data (L1-L2) to identify areas for iterative updates and maintenance cycles.
  • Monitor AI efficiency gains, tracking time-to-market and production cost reductions achieved through automated workflows.
  • Regularly audit the content library to ensure relevance, surfacing insights on when content should be retired or refreshed.

Supply Chain Integration
  • Operate as a connected node in the Expert Excellence supply chain - receiving committed work from Portfolio Delivery Managers and ensuring production is sequenced, resourced, and delivered to plan
  • Communicate capacity constraints, production risks, and delivery blockers to the Portfolio Delivery Operations lead before they become delivery failures

Qualifications

Required
  • Leadership: 5+ years of experience in learning design with at least 2 years in a people management or operational lead role, preferably managing contingent workers.
  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field - or equivalent professional experience demonstrating the same capabilities.
  • Content Development: 3-5 years building expert-level eLearning in Articulate 360 (Storyline/Rise). High proficiency in graphic design, interactive triggers, and variables.
  • GenAI Expertise: Proven experience using Synthesia for video production and LLMs (ChatGPT/Claude) for instructional design workflows and content generation.
  • Video & Multimedia: Skilled in video editing (Premiere Pro, CapCut, or Camtasia) and audio editing to produce high-fidelity assets.
  • QA & Technical: Expertise in SCORM/xAPI standards, LMS deployment, and cross-device testing to ensure flawless learner experiences.
  • Communication Skills: Clear, professional written and verbal communication - able to facilitate a session, write crisp participant-facing messages, and produce concise stakeholder updates.
  • Data & Reporting: Comfort with data tracking and reporting; able to compile and present clean, accurate metrics without errors.
  • Ops & Scaling: Proven track record of managing high-volume production studios and hitting delivery quotas for global teams.

Preferred
  • Certifications: Articulate Certified Developer, AI for Instructional Design certifications, or CPTD.
  • Advanced Media: Experience with motion graphics (After Effects) or custom illustrations for learning content.
  • Instructional Design Exposure: Familiarity with adult learning principles (Knowles' Andragogy), ADDIE or SAM instructional design models, and blended learning methodology.
  • Quality & Assessment: Experience applying Kirkpatrick Levels 1-4 evaluation framework. Background in QA, performance management, or learning effectiveness measurement.
  • Coaching Background: Demonstrated ability to coach struggling or resistant learners constructively, with specific techniques for de-escalating defensive responses to feedback.
