Job Overview

As a Lead, Quality Engineering at iCIMS, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable software solutions across iCIMS. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic oversight of testing execution, automation frameworks and quality governance. The Lead, Quality Engineering partners closely with engineering, product, and Devops to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle and drives continues improvement across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

In Sprint Testing

  • Collaborate with Development Leaders, Product Owners, and others to ensure high quality releases


  • "Own" overall quality for releases by becoming a customer and quality advocate


  • Provide the "Go/No-Go" recommendation to the delivery team regarding quality for all releases


  • Develop ways to automate and improve testing processes within a CICD construct


  • Responsible for ensuring test plans and executions are completed prior to production release


  • Ensure E2E and Integration Test automated test coverage prior to production release


  • Manually test features in development as needed


  • Train testers in how to complete code reviews and code/architecture quality reviews


  • Ensure defects have been documented based on standard quality processes


  • Train engineers and other team members on current quality standards


  • Complete post deployment check for releases as needed


Develop and Maintain Automation Scripts

  • Review current automation framework and make improvements as needed


  • Perform code reviews for quality engineers to ensure appropriate code standards are being met


  • Manage automated test code repositories for multiple test suites using multiple automation tools


  • Ensure automation scripts meet acceptable reliability, performance, and maintenance requirements


  • Create and improve automated testing strategy for key features for applications under development


  • Research and provide feedback on test frameworks and tools


Act as the "Voice of Quality"

  • Provide team training, documentation, and direction for multiple quality teams and partners


  • Review customer feedback, incidents, and test results from alpha/beta tests to inform test practices


  • Be a "voice of the customer" for a functional product area across multiple teams


  • Ensure all "definition of done" items are completed prior to production release


  • Provide updates to process documentation as needed


Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in software engineering experience in scalable software design


  • 6+ years experience as an "SDET" or similar role developing automated frameworks and tests


  • 3+ years experience as a technical leader leading multiple quality teams with 8-10 direct reports


  • Strong proficiency in testing methodologies, techniques, and tools with a focus on CICD processes


  • Strong proficiency in web-based technologies including AJAX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, JSON, RESTful services and similar related technologies


  • Strong knowledge of testing and automating REST and RESTful based web services


  • Agile, Lean, Iterative software development and delivery experience required


  • Advanced knowledge of various automated test architecture patterns


  • Experience developing automation frameworks such as Selenium Web driver or Playwright


  • Experience executing performance tests using tools like JUnit or other profiling tools


  • Experience evaluating security defects using automated tools


  • Experience testing AI Integrations with agentic AI / RAG models


  • Experience developing test frameworks for mobile is a plus


  • Adept at navigating cross functional teams and promoting quality as a culture across all roles
  • Occasional flexibility needed in case of incident response


Preferred

One or more certifications such as ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) or ISTQB Advanced Certified (CTAL-TM, CTAL-TAE, CT-ATLaS, CT-GenAI, CT-AI)

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated pay range for this position is 150,000 - 165,000 USD annually. Final compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market data. This range aligns with our commitment to equitable and transparent compensation practices, as required by applicable law.
