Lead Program Manager - Hybrid

This is a hybrid position that requires onsite work in Towson, MD minimum 3 days per week.

The Job:

As a Lead Program Manager, you'll be a key team member of the Program Management office reporting to the Portfolio Program manager of the Pro Electrified Products Design Center. You will be working as a hybrid employee. You'll get to:
  • Direct Program Management: Engineering New Product Development Focus - Leveraging cross-functional knowledge of New Product Development methodologies to effectively manage risks, coordinate project activities and make appropriate decisions - Independently leads projects with the highest level of innovation, complexity and capital spend.
  • In Addition to Direct Program Management - Lead a product sub-category and effectively manage category risks across multiple high complexity projects
  • Generate, Recommend, and Support Implementation of continuous improvement process development related to Program Management, Process Management, Cross Functional Working Relationship Development, and Metric Driven Performance Improvement Levers - Challenges the status quo ("This is how we've always done it") to identify new opportunities for project acceleration. Effectively implements learnings in alignment with Engineering Excellence team.
  • Generate Awareness and Recommend Control Actions related to portfolio level metrics within the Design Center Goals - Monitors sub-category KPI's (e.g Agility, Product Cost, Capital Spending, CTQ's) and proactively identifies non-conformance and drives cross functional teams toward mitigation strategies
  • Support and Facilitate training of colleagues cross functionally related to targeted improvement of performance related to portfolio level metrics with Design Center Goals
  • Develops and implements mitigation plans for identified project risk.
  • Collaborates with cross functional team to develop timing and action plan for project.
  • Ensures dependencies and critical path are identified and clearly communicated.
  • Maintains technical knowledge through continuous development by educational workshops and pursuing certifications.
  • Works with Product Management to Develop and Monitors program P&L and key drivers that affect overall program financial health ensuring programs meet established objectives (e.g. margins, costs, revenue)
  • Applies technical knowledge and understanding to day-to-day decision making.
  • Completes projects by scheduling and assigning resources and following up on work.
  • Guides development of technical project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans
  • Determines critical activities to execute program objectives.
  • Supports cross-functional teams to work seamlessly across boundaries of company, culture, and geography for successful project execution.
  • Leads, collaboration efforts across organization to leverage best practices, expertise and shared resources.
  • Prepares project status and communicates risks to leadership with proper level of detail and recovery plans.
  • Challenges and provides constructive mitigation strategies.
  • Runs efficient meetings by establishing cadence and techniques.

  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering Product Development or Program Management of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Product Development preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics or related field.
  • Strong communication skills including demonstrated history of effective upward communication
  • Proven experience in new product development within consumer and professional goods industries.
  • Demonstrated personnel management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams, including executive leadership.
  • Strong Understanding of NPD Financial principals and ability to quickly understand impacts of changes to relevant variables (Ex-Factory/Landed Costs, SG&A, Capital, SGM, AGM, Payback Period)
  • Strong track record of facilitating effective collaboration between business units and technology departments.
  • Familiarity with structured project management methodologies (e.g., Critical Path), and proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint).
  • Solid understanding of basic manufacturing processes, production planning, and best practices in project deployment, including policies, procedures, and process improvement.
  • Advanced analytical and logical problem-solving skills, with the ability to use financial analysis for fact-based business decisions.
  • Effective organization, planning, and scoping skills, able to size work efforts and manage multiple functional resources through comprehensive project plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills, including agenda setting, minute documentation, and deliverable tracking across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to develop and maintain constructive working relationships in a global, multicultural environment, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and appropriate conduct.
  • Skilled in influencing others, articulating business cases, and interpreting cause-effect impacts to support change initiatives.
  • Capable of soliciting and documenting process flows and business requirements accurately.
  • Responsible for significant contributions to the design, development, and completion of project deliverables, including documentation, status monitoring, and reporting in accordance with PMO standards.
  • Proactive in identifying and eliminating obstacles to business goals, solution plans, or implementation.
  • Supports and provides advanced analytical input for change initiatives impacting multiple business units, product lines, or processes.
  • Maintains effective reporting relationships with stakeholders, team members, managers, customers, vendors, and other departments to coordinate efforts and ensure project quality.
  • Willingness to contribute to various project tasks as directed.

The Salary range for this position is $95,600.00 - $153,900.00
