Full Job Description
Position Title: Lead Platform Test Engineer
Location: Hybrid - 2 days a week in Arlington, VA office

Other Considerations: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Required)

Position is contingent on contract award.

POSITION SUMMARY

Sprezzatura is seeking an experienced Lead Platform Test Engineer to lead quality assurance and testing across workstreams in support of the modernization of the VA's Budget Tracking Tool.

This is a working lead position responsible for establishing and driving the program's testing approach while also directly developing test cases, executing testing, and validating delivered functionality. The Lead will guide the QA team toward an automation-first, risk-based testing model, including development of reusable automated regression testing integrated into the delivery lifecycle.

The Lead will work closely with Business Analysts, OneStream functional and technical resources, integration engineers, and VA stakeholders to ensure VIPPS workflows, business rules, financial calculations, data, and integrations meet requirements and quality expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and coordinate QA and testing across the Functional Implementation and Data & Integrations workstreams
  • Establish and maintain the testing approach, standards, test plans, quality measures, and release-readiness criteria
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and technical guidance to testing resources while remaining hands-on in test design and execution
  • Develop and execute test scenarios, test cases, test scripts, and test data for functional, workflow, integration, data, regression, and end-to-end testing
  • Drive an automation-first testing approach, identifying repeatable regression cases for automation and working toward the program's goal of automating at least 80% of repeatable regression testing
  • Establish and maintain reusable automated regression suites covering areas such as business rules, financial calculations, workflows, APIs, integrations, and data reconciliation
  • Support integration of automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous validation throughout the delivery lifecycle, as required by the solicitation
  • Validate configurable workflows, approvals, calculations, reports, role-based functionality, interfaces, data mappings, reconciliation, and exception handling
  • Manage defect identification, triage, tracking, retesting, and quality metrics through resolution.
  • Partner with the Lead BA to ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are clear, testable, and traceable through validation
  • Support release readiness, UAT, demonstrations, and production validation as needed
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve test coverage, automation, efficiency, and overall product quality

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • 7+ years of software/application testing or quality assurance experience supporting complex enterprise implementations
  • Experience serving as a Test Lead, Senior Test Engineer, or similar working-lead role, including oversight or mentoring of other testers
  • Demonstrated hands-on testing experience with configurable workflow platforms, ERP/EPM systems, financial management platforms, or similar enterprise applications
  • Strong experience with functional, workflow, integration, data, regression, and end-to-end testing
  • Experience testing business rules, workflows, calculations, reports, roles/permissions, APIs, integrations, and data
  • Demonstrated experience with test automation and reusable regression testing, including development and/or implementation of automated test scripts or frameworks
  • Experience supporting automated testing within Agile/DevSecOps and CI/CD delivery environments
  • Experience with defect management, requirements traceability, test evidence, and release-readiness activities
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and team leadership skills
  • Ability to meet applicable VA background investigation/security requirements
  • VA or other Federal Government experience
  • Experience testing OneStream or comparable ERP/EPM/workflow platforms
  • Experience testing financial management, PPBE, budgeting, acquisition, or related business processes
  • Experience with API and integration-testing tools and automated testing frameworks
  • Experience with Jira, test-management tools, and Confluence
  • ISTQB or comparable testing/QA certification


WORKING CONDITIONS

Standard Business hours are Monday through Friday. Occasional extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs. Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting on remote days.

PAY RANGE

The base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $125,000 annually, depending on geographic work location, relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, security clearance, and contract requirements. Geographic salary ranges are determined in accordance with the company's compensation practices and represent a good-faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting.
