POSITION DESCRIPTION

Lead GSE Technician

$40/ hr

SUMMARY OVERVIEW

The Lead GSE Technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of both motorized and non-motorized ground support equipment used in airport operations. This leadership role involves performing advanced diagnostics and repairs, mentoring technicians, coordinating daily work assignments, and ensuring all equipment is maintained in accordance with safety regulations and manufacturer specifications. The Lead GSE Technician plays a key role in maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring operational efficiency across airport support functions. Additionally, you are involved in training staff, managing inventory of parts and supplies, and collaborating with other departments to ensure seamless support for airport operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Oversee and coordinate daily operations of the ground support equipment maintenance team
      • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to technicians in equipment repair and maintenance
      • Ensure all ground support equipment is maintained and repaired according to industry standards and safety regulations
      • Plan and schedule routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of ground support equipment
      • Diagnose complex equipment malfunctions and oversee troubleshooting procedures
      • Monitor the performance of team members and provide feedback and coaching
      • Develop and implement maintenance procedures and best practices to enhance operational efficiency
      • Coordinate with other departments for equipment needs and operational support
      • Manage inventory of parts and supplies required for maintenance tasks
      • Prepare and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
      • Stay informed about the latest advancements in ground support equipment and technologies
      • Participate in budget planning and control costs related to equipment maintenance
      • Respond to and manage emergency repair needs to minimize downtime
      • Ensure compliance with environmental standards in maintenance activities
      • Lead safety meetings and training sessions to promote a culture of safety within the team
      • Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
      • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS
      • 18 years of age or older
      • Eligible to work in the United States
      • 2 years of proven experience in ground support equipment maintenance and repair, with a track record in a leadership or supervisory role
      • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
      • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills
      • Ability to train and mentor staff in equipment maintenance and repair techniques
      • Must have a valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
      • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
      • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
      • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
      • Pass a background check and drug screen
      • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
      • Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
