As a Lead Data Science Engineer/Specialist, you will serve as a senior technical expert and strategic leader, driving the development and application of advanced data science and mathematical solutions to address mission-critical challenges for Department of Defense (DoD) clients. You will lead large-scale projects, provide thought leadership, and shape the direction of technical initiatives while mentoring teams and ensuring the delivery of innovative solutions. This role requires exceptional technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to influence organizational strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership and Project Oversight:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, complex data science and mathematics projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and organizational goals.
Define project strategies, establish priorities, and allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines and deliverables.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise to address their most pressing challenges.

Technical Expertise and Innovation:
Develop and implement cutting-edge data science methodologies, algorithms, and mathematical models to solve complex problems.
Drive innovation by researching and applying emerging technologies in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
Lead the development of scalable solutions for data processing, analysis, and modeling in operational environments.

Advanced Data Analysis and Modeling:
Oversee the design and implementation of advanced statistical, predictive, and machine learning models to support decision-making.
Conduct sophisticated exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover actionable insights and inform strategic decisions.
Develop and refine mathematical models for simulation, optimization, and forecasting tasks.

Tool and Technology Utilization:
Utilize advanced programming skills in Python, R, MATLAB, or similar languages to develop custom solutions.
Lead the integration of data science workflows into enterprise systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Oversee the use of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib) to communicate insights effectively to diverse audiences.

Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with senior leadership, multidisciplinary teams, and stakeholders to define technical strategies and project goals.
Prepare and deliver high-quality technical reports, presentations, and documentation for executive-level audiences.

Mentorship and Team Development:

Support for DoD Projects:

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
6+ years of relevant experience in data science, mathematics, or related fields.
Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, or similar.
Strong expertise in statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and mathematical modeling.
Proven ability to lead large-scale projects, manage teams, and deliver high-quality results.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib) and data engineering concepts.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to executive-level audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
Advanced knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Experience working in DoD or government contracting environments, with a strong understanding of DoD standards and policies.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and distributed computing frameworks.
