JOB DESCRIPTION - ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER (APP) LEAD - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Trauma and Acute Care Surgery APPs
  • Responsible for the scheduling of the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery APPs to ensure adequate staffing
  • Collaboration with other disciplines and nursing leadership on Trauma/ ACS and CUH based initiatives
  • Active participation in Trauma/ ACS Performance Improvement meetings and initiatives
  • Active participation in Trauma Center outreach and educational initiatives
  • Active participation in Trauma Center re-verification process
  • Responsible for assessment of staffing needs, collaborating with Trauma Medical Director and Leadership to present requests for new positions
  • Responsible for collaboration with CUH Talent Acquisition for recruiting for positions
  • Responsible for oversight of On-boarding any new-hires
  • Responsible for Oversight of APP students rotating through Trauma/ ACS
  • Be competent in all areas that the Trauma/ ACS APPs cover: TSICU, TSDU, Floors, Trauma/ ACS Clinic
  • Active participation in CUH APP initiatives, such as APN Council

Minimum of 18 months working as Licensed Advanced Practice Provider.

Master's Degree - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required

New Jersey License: APN and RN or PA

American Heart Association BLS

Certification: NCCPA
