Full Job Description
  1. Routine maintenance on instrumentation and electrical; 50 %
    • Understand PM/PdM maintenance work process, using of SAP software to verify work orders, spare parts and report performed activities.
    • Use of calibration tools like HART communicators, bench testing equipment, 4-20 mA signals simulators
    • Safety Instrumented System and Process safety interlocks functional test according with International standards and Engineering best practices. Perform calibration reports.
    • Use of calibration patterns and monitors
    • Calibration and verification of process analyzers like Oxygen, pH, LEL - flammable, personal safety monitors, etc.
    • Use of electrical meter tools
    • Understand electrical bases for Low Voltage equipment: disconnecting, switching, racking in-out MCC's etc.
  2. Troubleshooting and repair during abnormal activities on instrumentation equipment; 20%
    • Demonstrate skills to troubleshooting instrumentation and electrical equipment
    • Knowledge of principles of operation of process smart instrumentation; pressure, level, temperature, flow, analyzers, nuclear devices
    • Knowledge of principles of operation of electrical devices; motors, variable frequency drives, electrical breakers and switchgears, electrical safety devices
    • Use of electrical meters (voltmeters, amp-meters, ohm-meters, megger, etc.) to perform troubleshoot
    • Understand, skills to read Process and Instrumentation diagrams, loop sheets, control schematics, I-line diagrams, electrical control circuit diagrams
    • Knowledge of control process equipment like PLC (Programmable logic control), DCS (Distribute control system) and standalone controllers as part of the troubleshooting steps
  3. Installation of minor improvement projects; 10%
    • Support commissioning of improvement projects; calibrating instrumentation or verifying loop control signals
  4. Field calibration of instrumentation equipment; 10%
    • Use of field calibration tools; HART or BRAIN communicators, use of pneumatic tools to calibrate pressure devices
  5. Installation of instrument tubing; 5%
  6. Ability to install conduit of various trade sizes (typically rigid) and accessories. 5%


Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in an instrumentation and/or electrician role
    • Chemical or petrochemical manufacturing plant experience a plus
  • Ability to interpret various industrial drawings (schematic drawings to component level, PIDs (Process and Instrument Diagrams, etc.).
  • Ability to associate circuit symbols with actual components.
  • Good mathematical skills including basic algebra for calculation of electrical/ electronic equations.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions and project consequences of proposed actions.
  • Ability to learn new technologies.
  • Strong interpersonal relation skills, work in a team environment and work independently.
  • Ability to be on-call based on IE rotation to assist with troubleshooting and repairs during off-shifts.
  • Ability to identify root cause for failures and communicate appropriately.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook).

Desired Skills:
  • Journeyman Electrician a plus
  • Ability to research and suggest outside the box systematic improvements
  • Ability to track and follow up on work requests and work orders in SAP.
  • Ability to train less senior instrument or electrical associates working in the field at this work location.
  • Experience with SIS (Safety Instrument Systems) systems.
  • Experience with PSM (Process Safety Management).
