Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a
Java Software Engineer to support a Government Consulting company located in Herndon VA through
100% onsite work. The
Java SoftwareEngineer will provide Agile DevOps support for mission-critical systems while developing, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise software, cloud environments, and operational tools.
Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain software systems, tools, and applications within a DevOps environment
- Support the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, coding, testing, and implementation
- Deliver Agile DevOps support for mission-critical and cloud-based systems
- Contribute to the design, development, and testing of customer solutions
- Oversee operations and maintenance activities for essential systems
Qualifications: - Experience with Java software development
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and methodologies
- Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps)
- Background working within Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban)
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Active TS/SCI clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Poly
Preferred:- Full-stack and web development experience
- Experience designing/documenting microservice-based architectures
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
- Background in distributed systems
- Skills in debugging or testing web applications and services
- Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible)
- Understanding of security best practices (vulnerability scanning, penetration testing)
Compensation: - Salary: Up to $200,000, (some flexibility depending on experience)
