Job Summary
The Java Developer will design, develop, modify, and implement web applications and services supporting internal portal platforms and desktop applications. The role will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, with a strong focus on backend services, web APIs, microservices, application performance, troubleshooting, and maintenance. The developer will also stay current with industry tools and trends in web and API development while collaborating with the team to deliver features and maintain system health.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, modify, and implement web applications and services supporting portal platforms.
• Develop and maintain backend services and microservices using Java and Spring technologies.
• Build and consume RESTful Web APIs and other web services.
• Develop and maintain Spring MVC-based web applications.
• Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and maintain applications and services to support system health and performance.
• Develop features and enhancements for internal-facing web and desktop applications.
• Apply software development best practices with a strong focus on application performance.
• Implement unit testing and support continuous integration and CI/CD processes.
• Stay current with industry tools, technologies, and trends in web and API development.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to deliver application enhancements and support ongoing maintenance.
Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Strong Java/J2EE development experience.
• Strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience with Spring MVC for web application development and REST APIs.
• Strong experience developing backend services and microservices.
• Expertise building and consuming Web APIs.
• Strong experience with SQL.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience with unit testing frameworks and continuous integration tools.
• Experience with CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication skills.
