IT Project Manager 1

Description

The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution and delivery of cross functional IT projects that support business and technology objectives. This includes managing scope, schedule, quality, support transition, communications, risks, and cost to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with approved requirements. The IT Project Manager partners with business stakeholders, IT teams and vendors to deliver solutions in accordance with IT PMO standards and support successful transition of solutions into operation.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.

Essential Functions
• Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission.
• Serves as project manager on cross-functional application development and software implementation projects
• Leads and coordinates all aspects of project planning, scheduling, resource management, and delivery across multiple IT methodologies (SDLC, DevOps, Agile, Waterfall, ITIL, Change Management).
• Ensures business value realization for assigned projects by delivering approved scope, managing expectations and identifying improvement opportunities
• Fosters a collaborative and empowered team environment, coordinating cross-functional efforts and motivating team members (internal, external, onshore/offshore).
• Identifies and anticipates risks and issues; facilitates resolution, mitigation, and escalation.
• Maintains comprehensive project documentation and artifacts (project charter, workbooks, RAID logs, status reports) using approved tools and templates, ensuring compliance with IT PMO standards.
• Enforces terms and conditions of contracts (SOW) in support of project deliverables.
• Educates business partners about IT and project management guidelines and best practices.
• Facilitates effective stakeholder communication and engagement processes, including providing regular status reports and leading steering committee meetings.
• Ensures compliance with project, and change management standards, driving continuous improvement through lessons learned.
• Manages test cycle coordination and producing relevant performance metrics.
• Supports onboarding new PMO team members by sharing knowledge of IT PMO tools, processes, and standards.
• Manages vendor relationships throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and project objectives.
• Facilitates lessons-learned sessions and collaborate with leadership to incorporate findings into IT PMO best practices.
• Motivates people involved in the project to complete tasks on time.
• Comfortable working in a matrix environment and foster motivation within the project team to meet tight deadlines.
• Reports directly to the Manager of IT PMO, maintaining open and transparent communication through regular updates, timely escalation of risks or issues, and active participation in meetings.
• Collaborates in decision-making for resource allocation, prioritization, and strategic adjustments, while seeking guidance and feedback to ensure alignment with project methodologies, governance, and PMO goals.
• Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Demonstrates proven expertise in managing and coordinating multiple projects utilizing a range of methodologies.
• Adaptability to changing requirements, negotiating effectively with stakeholders, time management, and building trust within the project team.
• Possesses strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in enterprise tools (Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and advanced program structuring techniques.
• Exhibits excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and presentation skills.
• Skilled at facilitating meetings with cross-functional and technical teams.
• Capable of overseeing several intricate projects concurrently and cultivating successful relationships with stakeholders.
• Experienced in budget management, cost forecasting, and resource optimization.
• Adept at identifying inefficiencies and implementing best practices.
• Capable of delivering clear, concise project updates to managers and directors, escalating executive-level matters through PMO leadership as appropriate.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 6-8 years of related experience required, with at least 3-5 years managing enterprise-wide projects as a dedicated Project Manager
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.

Travel:
• Up to 25% and overnight travel may be expected.
• Valid driver's license required.

Work Environment:
• Works primarily in a professional office environment
• A hybrid work arrangement consisting of three days in the office and two days working from home.
• Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.

Physical Requirements:
• This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
• This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• This position regularly operates standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
