Job Summary:
The IT Consultant - Desktop Engineering, Automation & CMDB Management provides advanced technical capabilities across Entergy's enterprise workstation environment. This role is responsible for supporting Windows desktop configurations, improving internal PC refresh program policies, designing and governing Group Policy Objects, developing End User Computing automation, and ensuring accuracy across the ServiceNow CMDB. The consultant partners with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Service Management teams to deliver a secure, reliable, automated, and highly governed endpoint platform supporting the End User Computing team's modernization strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Engineer workstation standards, GPOs, security baselines, and configuration policies
• Develop automation solutions using scripting, workflows, and ServiceNow capabilities
• Manage workstation lifecycle and deployments using BigFix, Intune, or similar tools
• Maintain CMDB accuracy, CI class governance, reconciliation logic, and relationships
• Troubleshoot complex endpoint and configuration issues
• Support EUC automation initiatives and iterative platform improvements
• Partner with Service Management to improve processes based on CMDB data quality
• Document engineering standards, procedures, and knowledge articles
• Ensure alignment with cybersecurity, compliance, and audit requirements

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in desktop engineering, endpoint management, automation, or configuration management.

Technical Skills:
Windows desktop engineering, GPO design, PowerShell and automation scripting, BigFix/Intune/MECM, ServiceNow CMDB governance, ITIL processes, software deployment pipelines, patch management, Active Directory, identity and device compliance.

General Capabilities:
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to lead small workstreams; skilled problem solver; collaborates effectively across IT teams; influences operational reliability and workstation platform stability.

Preferred Certifications:
Microsoft Endpoint Administrator, ITIL Foundation, ServiceNow Fundamentals or CMDB certification.

Additional Responsibilities:
As a provider of essential services, Entergy employees may be required to work additional hours and support operational needs during storms, outages, emergencies, or special events.
