Job Description

As a Microsoft 365 Architect you will provide technical leadership and architectural direction for the enterprise Microsoft 365 environment. You will be responsible for designing, engineering, governing, securing, and continuously improving Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Copilot, and Microsoft Entra ID.

This role will serve as a senior technical authority for Microsoft 365 architecture and collaboration technologies, partnering with infrastructure, cybersecurity, identity, business, and application teams to develop scalable solutions that align with business objectives and enterprise security standards. The ideal candidate brings deep Microsoft 365 expertise, strong architectural skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and experience mentoring technical teams.
Responsibilities / Expectations
  • Own and lead the enterprise Microsoft 365 architecture and technical strategy, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Copilot, and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, highly available Microsoft 365 solutions that align with enterprise architecture, business requirements, and security standards.
  • Develop and maintain Microsoft 365 architecture roadmaps, technology standards, reference architectures, and governance frameworks.
  • Monitor the Microsoft 365 product roadmap and evaluate emerging technologies and capabilities, including Copilot and AI features, for business value, security, compliance, and technical feasibility.
  • Provide technical leadership for the planning, design, testing, deployment, and production readiness of major Microsoft 365 initiatives.
  • Lead Tier 3 engineering and support, complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews across the Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Architect and manage enterprise identity and access solutions using Microsoft Entra ID, including SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management, identity governance, application registrations, and least-privilege access.
  • Design and implement Microsoft 365 security and compliance solutions using Microsoft Purview, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), data classification, retention policies, eDiscovery, Insider Risk Management, and information protection.
  • Establish and enforce Microsoft 365 governance, licensing, security, permissions, and configuration standards across the organization.
  • Evaluate and optimize Microsoft 365 licensing to ensure appropriate utilization, cost efficiency, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Lead architecture reviews and provide technical recommendations for integration between Microsoft 365 and enterprise applications, identity platforms, security tools, and business systems.
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to conduct security assessments, hardening, risk analysis, and security readiness reviews before major Microsoft 365 platform changes.
  • Analyze complex business and technical requirements and translate them into enterprise Microsoft 365 architecture and solution designs.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standards, implementation guides, support documentation, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Lead technical projects using established project management and SDLC practices while coordinating with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve platform reliability, automation, user experience, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to Microsoft 365 engineers, administrators, and IT analysts, helping establish best practices and developing team capabilities.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point and subject-matter expert for Microsoft 365 architecture, security, identity, collaboration, and productivity technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
