What is the opportunity?

As a Sales Analyst for RBC's US Global Asset Management Intermediary channel, you will have the opportunity to partner with Sales Directors in the sales and distribution of our investment strategies to Financial Advisors and Independent/Regional Broker Dealers. In this role you will build and cultivate new relationships, as well as enhance existing relationships with financial advisors, planners and key internal & external stakeholders within a defined territory.

What will you do?
  • Partner with the Managing Director and broader sales team to establish a strategic business plan for the territory with defined sales targets
  • Proactively contact investment advisors, primarily by phone, to gain insight into their practices and understand current challenges
  • Provide value added insight and ideas about capital markets, economics, and investment instruments
  • Identify opportunities and advance the sales process with existing relationships and new prospects through discovery and service discussions
  • Position RBC and BlueBay products and solutions to prospects and existing clients
  • Drive the sales process forward by coordinating high-value presentations and appointments with new prospects and sales team members
  • Create and deliver presentations, proposals and investment illustrations
  • Analyze competitive landscape to inform strategic business decisions
  • Leverage knowledge of dealers and advisory business through the sales process
  • Represent RBC GAM and participate in cross-functional projects and work effectively with all stakeholders in helping execute on both team and business strategies
  • Contribute to an internally collaborative/externally competitive team culture with a focus on outcomes, alignment and support of GAMs strategy and sales approach


What do you need to succeed?

Must-have
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance, business, or a related field
  • 1-3 years financial services industry experience
  • FINRA Series 7, 63 required or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Demonstrate drive and passion to learn the institutional sales process within the context of the broader financial services industry
  • Knowledge of/and genuine interest in capital markets and financial instruments
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills

Nice-to-have
  • Prior experience in investment management and/or mutual funds
  • Financial Sales experience
  • Enrolment in an advanced financial services designation such as CFP or CFA

The expected salary range for this particular position is $77,000-$143,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.

You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
