Full Job Description
Who You Will Work With:

The Infrastructure and Platform Enablement, Lead-reporting to the Leader, Infrastructure and Platform Management. Acting as a Super Delegate, you will translate Product and service demand into coordinated infrastructure requirements, plans and commitments. You will work across Compute, Cloud, Containers, Network, Database, Storage, Security, Observability and Service Operations to identify dependencies, validate readiness and bring together an executable infrastructure response.

This is not a conventional project-management role. It requires meaningful infrastructure and platform knowledge, strong programme-delivery discipline and the ability to understand the financial and operational implications of technology decisions.

The role is accountable for engagement, coordination, governance and outcome visibility. Engineering Capability Teams remain accountable for technical design, engineering standards, specialist estimates, implementation and operational ownership.

What You Will Do:

  • Act as the primary Infrastructure & Platform Engineering contact for assigned Product teams, services and strategic initiatives.
  • Translate Product requirements and business outcomes into structured infrastructure and platform demand.
  • Lead demand intake, discovery, prioritisation, planning and commitment coordination.
  • Assess technical dependencies across Compute, Cloud, Containers, Network, Database, Storage, Backup, Security, Observability and Service Operations.
  • Coordinate cross-domain feasibility assessments, estimates, capacity requirements and delivery commitments.
  • Challenge incomplete assumptions, unclear dependencies and unrealistic delivery plans using sound technical judgement.
  • Maintain an integrated view of milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, costs and commitments.
  • Coordinate operational readiness, resilience, security, compliance and service-transition requirements.
  • Identify emerging delivery or financial risks and drive timely resolution or escalation.
  • Work with Platform Enablement to transition approved requirements into standard, secure and automated consumption paths.
  • Coordinate commitments and service outcomes across Engineering Capability Teams and Technology Service Providers.
  • Communicate complex infrastructure matters as clear options, risks and recommendations for Product and Technology stakeholders.

Technical Knowledge

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical breadth across enterprise infrastructure and platform environments, including:
  • Compute and operating platforms: VMware-based virtualisation, Windows Server, RHEL, Ubuntu, enterprise storage, hyperconverged infrastructure, capacity, patching, lifecycle management, high availability, backup and disaster recovery.
  • Containers and platform services: Kubernetes-based platforms, container images and registries, orchestration, secrets, persistent storage, ingress and egress, service connectivity, self-service infrastructure and reusable platform patterns.
  • AWS and Microsoft Azure: Hybrid-cloud architecture, cloud compute, storage, networking, identity, security, monitoring, workload placement, migration readiness, resilience, scalability, capacity and cost management.
  • Enterprise networking: Routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, subnets, segmentation, firewalls, access controls, NAT, routers, load balancers, DNS, DHCP, IP address management, VPNs, private connectivity and hybrid-cloud networking.
  • Network readiness: Ability to interpret network and connectivity diagrams and identify dependencies affecting availability, capacity, latency, security and performance.
  • Infrastructure automation: Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, Ansible, configuration management and automated provisioning and compliance.
  • DevSecOps: GitHub Actions, CI/CD workflows, SonarQube, automated quality controls and security scanning.
  • Observability: Dynatrace, metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, service-health monitoring and operational readiness.
  • Scripting and workflow automation: Practical knowledge of Python, PowerShell or Bash.

Program and Delivery

  • Integrate cross-domain plans, milestones, commitments and dependencies.
  • Manage risks, issues, assumptions, decisions and escalations.
  • Coordinate internal teams and external service providers.
  • Translate technical complexity into clear business impacts and recommendations.
  • Drive accountability and progress through influence.

Financial and Commercial

  • Understand budgets, forecasts, actuals, accruals and variances.
  • Analyse infrastructure consumption, pricing, licensing and managed-service costs.
  • Support business cases, cost allocation and invoice validation.
  • Quantify financial exposure and recommend practical mitigations.
  • Balance cost with delivery, resilience, security and operational risk.

Applied AI and Automation

  • Use AI responsibly for technical analysis, planning, documentation and reporting.
  • Automate recurring intake, governance and evidence-collection activities.
  • Understand AIOps applications across observability, incidents and capacity forecasting.
  • Apply data-protection, human-oversight and output-validation controls.
  • Prioritise opportunities that deliver measurable operational value.

What You Bring:

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud, platform engineering, infrastructure architecture, technical service delivery or technical programme delivery.
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Prior hands-on experience in infrastructure, cloud, networking, DevOps or platform engineering.
  • Strong technical breadth across virtual compute, containers, AWS, Azure, networking, automation and observability.
  • Practical experience with several of the following:
  • VMware, Nutanix
  • Windows Server and Linux
  • Kubernetes or comparable container platforms
  • AWS and Microsoft Azure
  • Enterprise firewalls, switches, routers and load balancers
  • Terraform and Ansible
  • GitHub Actions and SonarQube
  • Dynatrace
  • Python, PowerShell or Bash
  • Experience reviewing technical proposals, identifying gaps and constructively challenging assumptions.
  • Strong programme and project-management skills, including integrated planning, dependency management, RAID management and governance.
  • Ability to interpret budgets, forecasts, consumption data and financial variances.
  • Experience working across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security, Risk, Finance, Operations and external providers.
  • Ability to communicate technical risks, trade-offs and recommendations clearly.
  • Practical understanding of generative AI, responsible AI and automation.
  • Experience operating in a regulated, security-conscious and highly available environment.
  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in payments, financial services or critical infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure modernisation or cloud-migration programmes.
  • AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, networking or DevOps certification.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or comparable programme-delivery certification.
  • FinOps, ITIL or observability certification.
  • Experience coordinating managed service providers and consumption-based technology services.
  • Experience with internal developer platforms or Golden Path adoption.
  • Experience applying AI or AIOps within infrastructure engineering or operations.
