Overview

As an established thought leader within the commercial industries, you are passionate about geospatial technology and its transformative potential across industries. You are excited to lead the Esri commercial industry solutions team to shape and execute our market expansion initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing deep industry expertise across the industry solutions team, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting strategic partnerships across key market sectors including retail, logistics, manufacturing, financial services, real estate and technology.

You understand how global businesses work and how they are more successful when using enterprise mapping and analytics. You will be a team lead and individual contributor to develop cross-sector industry messaging for global markets and collaborate with industry experts, marketing professionals, and external organizations to drive awareness and demand.

Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Redlands, California area for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Drive strategic planning and market development by developing detailed sector-specific go-to-market strategies working with key internal stakeholders (sales, services, marketing, product)
  • As the commercial industry team lead, you support sector-wide research, analysis, and monitor relevant industry and technological trends to capitalize on market growth opportunities
  • Create and deliver thought leadership through regular cadence of content (for example: public speaking, webinars, case studies, collateral, videos, and event plans) that demonstrate the value of ArcGIS within the commercial sector industries
  • Support strategic opportunities as a subject matter expert and cultivate relationships with industry analysts, associations, and influencers working with Esri's communications and industry analyst teams; including participation in industry advisory boards and executive briefing programs
  • Work closely with sales and professional services leadership to support enterprise account strategy and complex deal cycles, act as a trusted advisor to clients on geospatial technology strategy and digital transformation
  • Work with marketing to develop industry-specific campaigns, messaging, and content; supporting contributions within sales enablement and learning assets
  • Stay current on the competitive landscape and participate in joint value messaging to industry executives

Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in strategy and market development, working in commercial industries with deep domain expertise in the positioning and application of enterprise technology
  • Bachelor's degree in business, geography or similar field
  • 5+ years of deep industry expertise in one or more target industries and/or executive buyer segments (such as operations, risk, sales, marketing)
  • 5+ years of people management experience, including building and leading teams of up to 10 professionals
  • Understanding of enterprise IT decision-making processes, procurement cycles, and technical evaluation criteria
  • Demonstrated geospatial innovation and advanced use of software technology; experience with digital transformation initiatives and emerging technologies (AI/ML, IoT, cloud computing, digital twin)
  • 5+ years of experience working in multi-discipline teams with proven ability to collaborate, communicate, and influence business and technical audiences
  • Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, with ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts to both business and IT audiences, bridging the gap between technology capabilities and business outcomes
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing purpose and tactics; collaborative approach with proven ability to work across functional teams
  • Exceptional leadership skills with proven ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams; success in talent development, team building, and organizational leadership
  • Self-motivated with excellent leadership, organizational and project management skills

Recommended Qualifications
  • Master's degree in business, geography or similar field
  • 5+ years in enterprise geospatial technologies, mapping platforms, or spatial analytics experience

Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is

$156,000-$260,000 USD
