Full Job Description
Job Description

Ford is undertaking a multi-year transformation of enterprise access governance, moving from a fragmented landscape of applications, authorization models, entitlement stores, and governance processes toward a centralized, automated, and observable governance ecosystem.

The Identity & Access Assurance (IAA) organization is leading this transformation using Microsoft Entra ID Governance and the IAA Platform as strategic foundations. Our mission is to simplify and modernize how access is governed across the enterprise while improving visibility, operational efficiency, customer experience, and security outcomes.

We are seeking an Identity Governance Service Transformation & Automation Lead to help operationalize and scale this transformation.

This role sits at the intersection of customer engagement, service operations, governance modernization, AI-enabled automation, and platform transformation. You will work closely with application teams, engineers, architects, product owners, and security stakeholders to accelerate onboarding, identify modernization opportunities, establish repeatable governance patterns, and help build the operating model that enables enterprise-scale growth.

This is not a traditional operations role. Success will be measured not only by your ability to support customers and operate services effectively, but also by your ability to identify patterns, simplify complexity, automate manual work, and help shape the future of enterprise access governance at Ford.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

Drive Enterprise Access Governance Transformation
  • Support Ford's transition toward a centralized, scalable, and governance-driven access management ecosystem.
  • Help define the future operating model for enterprise access governance.
  • Partner with product owners, architects, engineers, and security stakeholders to accelerate adoption and modernization efforts.
  • Influence platform capabilities and service evolution through customer insights, operational experience, and transformation opportunities.

Scale the Future Operating Model of IAA platform
  • Lead onboarding campaigns and adoption initiatives supporting enterprise-wide growth.
  • Establish scalable onboarding, governance, and service delivery practices.
  • Develop operational metrics and insights that improve platform maturity and decision-making.
  • Increase adoption of repeatable onboarding patterns, self-service capabilities, AI-assisted guidance, and automation.
  • Help ensure platform growth can be supported without proportional increases in operational support overhead.

Lead Customer Adoption & Service Excellence
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for application teams adopting enterprise access governance capabilities.
  • Lead onboarding consultations, governance workshops, readiness reviews, and implementation planning activities.
  • Manage onboarding activities, customer inquiries, operational issues, and service escalations.
  • Drive continuous improvement of onboarding, support, and service delivery processes.

Advance Governance Modernization & Pattern Convergence
  • Analyze existing authorization models, entitlement structures, approval workflows, and governance implementations.
  • Identify repeatable access governance patterns across applications and business domains.
  • Develop recommendations for implementing modernized governance patterns using Microsoft Entra ID Governance.
  • Drive convergence from one-off application solutions toward reusable governance models, onboarding approaches, and implementation blueprints.
  • Leverage analytics, AI-assisted discovery capabilities, and operational insights to improve governance visibility across the enterprise.

Accelerate AI & Automation Adoption
  • Identify opportunities to automate onboarding, governance, reporting, support, and operational processes.
  • Partner with engineering teams to transform manual activities into scalable platform capabilities.
  • Help define AI-assisted intake, onboarding, discovery, migration, and self-service experiences.
  • Create requirements and use cases that drive intelligent workflows, automation, and customer self-service.
  • Leverage AI, automation, and analytics to improve engineering, operational, governance, and security outcomes.

Success Measures

Within the first 12-24 months, the successful candidate will help:
  • Increase adoption of enterprise access governance capabilities across application portfolios.
  • Establish a catalog of repeatable governance patterns that accelerate onboarding and modernization.
  • Reduce unique onboarding approaches through governance standardization and convergence.
  • Increase the percentage of onboardings supported through AI-assisted guidance, automation, workshops, templates, and self-service capabilities.
  • Reduce onboarding effort and consultation time for both application teams and the IAA team.
  • Improve customer satisfaction and onboarding experience.
  • Reduce manual operational workload through automation and process improvements.
  • Improve visibility into authorization models, entitlement structures, and governance implementations across the enterprise.
  • Enable significantly higher onboarding volumes without proportional increases in operational support staffing.

Qualifications

You'll have...
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Business Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in service management, platform operations, technical consulting, identity and access management, enterprise platform adoption, customer success, or technology transformation initiatives.
    • Experience operating and improving enterprise technology services.
    • Experience establishing or scaling operational models, onboarding practices, service delivery functions, or customer success capabilities for enterprise platforms.
    • Experience leading onboarding, migration, modernization, adoption, or transformation initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and technical teams.
    • Strong customer engagement, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Proven ability to identify operational inefficiencies and drive automation, self-service, and process improvement initiatives.
    • Experience working closely with engineering teams to translate customer and operational needs into platform capabilities.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Experience leveraging AI, analytics, automation, or workflow technologies to improve engineering, operations, governance, or security outcomes.
    • Experience working across globally distributed engineering, operations, and support organizations responsible for business-critical services.

  • Experience building repeatable operating models and service delivery frameworks.
  • Experience using analytics and AI tooling to discover, classify, and modernize authorization and access management implementations.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira, GitHub, Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Power BI, or similar platforms.
