Full Job Description

The HRIS Technical Administrator serves as embecta's internal Workday subject matter expert and is responsible for the hands-on configuration, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Workday platform. This role will play a critical part in expanding embecta's internal HRIS capabilities, ensuring the platform remains reliable, scalable, compliant, and aligned with business needs.

Reporting to the Director HRIS & HR Operations, you will act as a trusted partner to HR Business Partners, HR Operations, Finance, and IT to ensure data integrity, system reliability, and a seamless employee and manager experience.

This role is remote. Preference may be given to candidates located in the Eastern or Central time zones to support collaboration with key stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Workday Configuration & Administration

  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Workday HCM
  • Configure, maintain and optimize Workday modules including core HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, and Absence modules.
  • Manage business process framework, security roles, condition rules, and calculated fields.
  • Lead configuration changes from requirements gathering and solution design through testing, deployment, and documentation.
  • Partner with the HR Team to build standard operating procedures for recurring Workday processes
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and monitoring of Workday integrations and collaborate with HRIT and third-party vendors to troubleshoot issues as needed.

Support & Reporting

  • Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for Workday system and data issues, conducting audits, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
  • Design, deliver and maintain scheduled and ad hoc reports to support HR, Finance, and leadership needs
  • Support compliance and audit activities by maintaining accurate records, audit trails and appropriate documentation.
  • Provide training and support to HRBPs, managers, and HR team members on Workday functionality

Project & Release Management

  • Lead technical delivery of HR system projects from planning and configuration through testing, deployment and post go-live support.
  • Manage Workday bi-annual release cycles by reviewing release notes, assessing business impact, coordinating test activities and communicating relevant updates.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations to prioritize system improvements and ensure changes are communicated effectively.
  • Maintain accurate project plans, testing documentation, configuration records, and system documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday HCM configuration experience
  • Proficiency in core Workday modules: Core HCM, Business Processes, Security, Reporting (including calculated fields)
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex system and data issues independently
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical HR and business stakeholders

Preferred

  • Experience with Workday Prism Analytics
  • Experience supporting HR Operations in a mid-size or publicly traded company
  • Familiarity with SOX controls and compliance requirements within an HRIS environment.
  • Experience working with outsourced HR service providers.

Competitive base salary based on experience and qualifications: $140,000-$160,000 (subject to variation depending on physical location). 

Posted salary ranges are provided in good faith. embecta reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the selected candidates experience, qualifications, external market conditions, and internal equity considerations.
