Position Overview
We are seeking a senior leader, based in Austin, TX, to own the next phase of this buildout: a market structure and platform role covering the institutional trading infrastructure around both traditional and digitally native private assets, spanning liquidity access, execution, custody, collateral, counterparty risk and settlement. Working across business leadership, product, engineering and operations, the individual will commercialize the platform across the private credit ecosystem and assess developments in tokenization and prime-brokerage models. This is a business-building role, reporting to senior ACS leadership.
Primary Responsibilities
Efficient transfer and settlement
- Develop transfer and settlement solutions that move private credit from today's manual, consent-driven assignment process toward automated, near-real-time transfer, with authoritative digital records for each asset
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle (origination through secondary transfer and servicing) and remove friction at each node: assignment agreements, agent processes and settlement workflows
- Extend custody and collateral mechanics to private assets in both traditional and tokenized form, so positions can be held, financed and mobilized with public-market reliability
- Advance settlement models, including delivery versus payment, that reduce counterparty and operational risk
Marketplace development
- Lead Apollo's market structure strategy across the infrastructure required for private credit to scale: data standardization, index development, secondary trading infrastructure, and digital transfer and settlement
- Ensure seamless data integration throughout the asset lifecycle, integrating with ICE Private Credit Intelligence and Apollo's internal systems so deal data stays consistent and operationally useful
- Develop the pricing transparency, liquidity access, execution and venue connectivity that let participants transact private assets efficiently, in both traditional and tokenized form
- Assess and shape Apollo's approach to tokenization and prime-brokerage models, positioning the platform for the convergence of traditional and digitally native private assets
- Interface with market participants and counterparties across the private credit ecosystem, including originators, asset managers, market makers, custodians and prime brokers, to drive adoption of new technologies and platforms
- Own the commercial model and P&L across market structure and platform initiatives
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years in private credit, leveraged finance or structured credit, spanning both investment/trading and/or operational/infrastructure roles
- Track record of building something from zero to one, whether a new business line, platform or operational capability; this is a buildout role, not a maintenance role
- Strong commercial instinct across business models, incentive structures and go-to-market strategies, with comfort owning a P&L and moving from investment phase to revenue
- Deep understanding of private credit operational mechanics: assignment agreements, settlement workflows, agent processes and the full lifecycle from origination through secondary transfer and servicing
- Experience with institutional electronic trading and its counterparties (market makers, exchanges, custodians and prime brokers) and how they connect for execution, clearing and settlement
- Experience with market structure or infrastructure buildouts in adjacent asset classes (syndicated loans, CLOs, ABS); familiarity with LSTA protocols, ClearPar or LXID/CUSIP infrastructure strongly preferred
- Familiarity with digital asset market structure (custody, tokenization, on-chain settlement, prime brokerage) and with data-licensing business models; a strong plus as these models mature
- Entrepreneurial, collaborative and solutions-oriented, with strong communication skills, high execution discipline and comfort operating with significant ambiguity
