What you'll do
Lead execution of tax equity and preferred equity investments, including hybrids thereof, from term sheet through close.
Identify, structure around, price, and document transaction risk to a high standard.
Serve as the team's technical authority on partnership structures and tax and capital account basis issues, and help more junior colleagues resolve the difficult, deal-specific issues on their transactions before they escalate.
Prepare and present opportunities to the Investment Committee (IC), both for screening and for final investment decisioning.
Lead negotiations with sponsors and capital partners, including new and difficult counterparties.
Review and pressure-test complex partnership and hybrid models, and partner with Legal, Tax, and Risk on key issues and IRS compliance.
Help build the institutional infrastructure that lets capital partners underwrite Crux as a GP.
Mentor the team and push adoption of AI-enabled workflows across the deal lifecycle.

What you bring

Command of partnership structures and tax and capital account basis issues (DROs, basis, allocations, safe harbor, recapture).
Breadth across core technologies (solar, wind, storage); exposure to emerging categories.
Ability to lead and negotiate transaction documents (partnership flips, T-flips, preferred equity; sale-leaseback a plus).
Strong modeling skills and the ability to review and pressure-test complex partnership and hybrid models.
Tenacity, persistence, and ownership, with genuine energy for the work and the mission.
Ability to be the senior person in the room - leading IC discussions, guiding a team, and resolving hard questions independently.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
A track record credible enough to stand up in capital-partner diligence on Crux as a GP.
Strong capabilities in - or a fast track record of adopting - technology and AI.
Prior experience at a bank (particularly in project finance, structured products, or a leveraged finance group) or developer/sponsor is a strong plus.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
FINRA SIE, Series 79, and 63, or willingness to obtain them under Crux's broker-dealer sponsorship.
