The opportunityThe Data Engineer supports reporting and analytical ecosystem by designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, reporting datasets, automation solutions, and reporting infrastructure. The position ensures reliable access to validated enterprise data that supports client official reporting, dashboards, analytics, and decision-making.
Your key responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple source systems.
- Support recurring report generation and dashboard development.
- Implement validation, quality assurance, and reconciliation processes.
- Develop automated reporting and data-processing solutions.
- Support data governance, metadata management, and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with STU, ITM, DQI, and OCIO stakeholders.
- Participate in business requirements gathering and technical implementation planning.
- Perform database optimization and performance tuning.
- Support IIDS enhancements, automation initiatives, and reporting modernization efforts.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational guides.
- Support testing, deployment, and maintenance activities for reporting solutions

To qualify for the role, you must have- Eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or database development.
- Strong SQL and ETL development experience.
- Experience with Python and data integration tools.
- Experience working with enterprise-scale data environments.
- Knowledge of data quality, governance, and reporting processes.
Ideally, you'll also have- Experience with Tableau, Qlik, ArcGIS, Databricks, AWS, Azure, or Foundry.
- Knowledge of MLOps, AI governance, and model validation practices.
- Federal government or law enforcement analytics experience.
- Graduate degree in a quantitative field.
Due to the nature of our work in the Government and Public Sector, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel 20 - 30% or more.
