Full Job Description

The Team

The Content and Business Product Engineering team builds the technology that powers Netflix’s content lifecycle from concept to streaming. We create the platforms, systems, and services that enable teams around the world to plan, produce, distribute, and promote the stories our members love.

Content Infrastructure & Solutions (CIS) accelerates content and studio innovation by providing the foundational platforms and services that support Netflix’s global content ecosystem. We deliver secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure that powers large-scale media, asset, data, access, workflow, and communication needs across content production and distribution.

Content Foundations Engineering (CFE), a key organization within CIS, builds the core data and access management platforms that underpin Netflix’s content business. Within CFE, the User and Access Management team manages experiences, platforms, backend services and data facilitating the goal of seamless user onboarding and managing access to Netflix Content and Studio ecosystem.

We serve hundreds of thousands of users and hundreds of applications across the Netflix Content and Studio ecosystem, facilitating user and access management while continuously improving security posture.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable working across the full software stack: designing and consuming GraphQL and/or RESTful APIs to power rich client experiences, and building resilient, high-scale, low-latency services in production

  • Have recent, hands-on backend experience in Java, C#, or a similar OO language, along with solid OO design principles

  • Experience with microservices, data modeling, and API design, and translating business requirements into technical designs and data models

  • Understand distributed systems concepts like multithreading, parallelism, and software observability

  • Have recent, hands-on experience building complex, high-quality user interfaces with HTML, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CSS, with exposure to React and modern frontend architecture (component design, state management, performance optimization). A strong eye for UI/UX craft

  • Able to describe complex technical concepts to cross-functional peers, driving conversations and decisions through written and verbal communication

  • Work cross-functionally with design, product, and engineering partners to build, test, deploy, and launch features end to end

  • Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident reviews

What Sets You Apart

  • A self-starter who drives work forward independently while collaborating well with engineers and cross-functional partners

  • Communicates clearly, navigates ambiguity comfortably, and makes good judgment calls without complete information

  • Product-minded: curious about the "why," bringing your own ideas rather than just implementing a spec, seeks early feedback on what you build

  • Takes a practical approach to problem-solving, weighing tradeoffs and avoiding over-engineering

  • A resourceful engineer who identifies root causes and delivers maintainable, high-quality solutions across the stack

  • Evangelizes new ideas and exemplifies technical leadership with a bias for action

Bonus Points

  • Big plus: Experience in security and privacy domains: AuthZ/AuthN protocols, IAM, ACLs, Authorization systems and user lifecycle management

  • Experience with GraphQL

  • Experience applying AI in production systems across the tech stack

  • Proactively using AI tools to accelerate workflow and amplify impact

  • Keeping up to date with latest AI trends and technologies
