Full Stack Developer
Lead II - Software Engineering
UST is searching for a Full Stack Developer who thrives on building products, not just maintaining them. This role is centered on designing and delivering customer-facing features within the rapidly evolving Canadian Open Banking ecosystem.
The opportunity:
• Build and ship high-quality features across the stack (frontend + backend) with a strong focus on user experience and performance
• Design and implement secure, scalable APIs supporting Open Banking use cases
• Work on authentication and sign-in flows, including secure user onboarding and consent-driven data access
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and architects to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Contribute to system design discussions and help shape engineering best practices
• Continuously improve code quality, performance, and reliability

What you need:
• Strong experience as a Full Stack Developer with a bias toward feature development
• Hands-on experience building and enhancing sign-in / authentication flows (OAuth, SSO, MFA, etc.)
• Solid backend development skills (Node.js, Java, or similar) and modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or similar)
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with microservices architectures
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices, especially in financial or regulated environments
• Nice to Have
• Experience in Open Banking, fintech, or financial services
• Exposure to API standards, consent management, or data-sharing frameworks
• Experience working in agile, product-driven environments
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Ontario
Compensation Range: $104,000-$130,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
