This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will build the tools and infrastructure to support the New Glenn vehicle autonomy, guidance, and control team. You will lead the development of tools for flight software and simulation development and analysis in Matlab, Simulink, C and C++. You will be embedded in the flight software team alongside the engineers developing the control algorithms that launch and land the New Glenn vehicle. You will contribute to design standards and workflow definition, as well as new technology adoption. We are looking for someone to take ownership of many tools and help us chart the future of flight software development.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Develop tools for flight software and simulation development interfacing with Matlab and Simulink autocode.
- Develop infrastructure for automated software testing and delivery with Gitlab CI pipelines.
- Contribute to flight software standards and best practices through working groups of software developers.
- Integrate and maintain AI coding and review tools into developer workflows and CI environment
- Develop and maintain tools for unit testing with Python, Matlab, and other test frameworks.
- Maintain software test and build metrics databases, track and report on regression testing.
- Build tools for software configuration management and V&V artifact versioning
Minimum Qualifications- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years experience in software infrastructure development
- Comfortable developing in Python and Matlab
- Experience with CI development in Gitlab or similar environment
- Experience using and developing LLM coding tools and workflows
- Motivated self-starter
Preferred Qualifications- MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience with C/C++ control software development
- Experience developing integrated simulation environments
- Experience with Simulink autocode
- Experience with Aerospace or other industry control system design
Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $134,961.00 - $188,945.40
