This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

Exploration Systems Level III FA

We are seeking a Finance Analyst with a strong track record of success to play a crucial role in contributing to our mission of reducing the cost of access to space. To further Blue Origin's mission, the Exploration Systems business unit is developing space mining robots and systems that dig, collect, process, and transfer samples for in-situ analysis and sample return missions. As a Finance Analyst, you will have the opportunity to partner with program leadership to drive financial performance and programmatic decisions!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Work with program management to monitor performance and estimates on a continual basis
  • Analyze financial performance of individual projects and the Exploration Systems' business
  • Develop reporting that provides insights into the key drivers of the business's financial performance
  • Partner with business leadership to align quarterly forecasts for revenue, margin, and cash with strategic goals
  • Perform Risk and Opportunity assessment of forecasts, providing potential solutions for mitigation or recovery
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to Exploration Systems' leadership, proactively ensuring teams operate within financial constraints and invest capital wisely
  • Build and continuously improve financial processes, including but not limited to developing financial models and reporting, identifying key performance drivers and introducing new analytical methods
  • Assist in the month-end close process from start through the reporting cycle, including preparation and reconciliation of journal entries and customer invoicing
  • Develop strong knowledge of our ERP system (IFS) and lead efforts to move manual processes into the system


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related analytical field
  • Minimum 2 years demonstrating performance in a relevant role
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive, professional relationships with key business partners and the broader finance team
  • Experience with extracting data from qualitative and quantitative data sources to support business planning and performance measurement
  • Intellectual curiosity in the products, underlying business processes and impact of financial decisions within the Exploration Systems business unit


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Moderate proficiency in data extraction using SQL programming
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with IFS, Databricks, D365, or other cost/schedule integration tools
  • Experience with supporting government contracts
  • Successful support of programs through DCMA/DCAA, joint site surveillance, or other government audits
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience (e.g. Control Account Management) on an EVM-required contract
  • Proposal support including pricing for bids requiring certified pricing


Compensation Range for:
CA applicants is $104,027.00 - $145,637.10

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
