The Opportunity

Our Canada Gas Maintenance Program & Planning team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business. TC Energy is seeking Field Work Planners with strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate closely with field teams and management, while coordinating work with appropriate technical resources.

The successful individuals will be responsible for planning and scheduling regional work activities, utilizing multiple automated Excel spreadsheets and online planning tools to track, prioritize, and develop monthly work plans.

In this role, you will join a high-performing planning team that supports continuous development-offering opportunities to expand your expertise while contributing insights and feedback to drive ongoing initiatives.

**This position is not eligible for relocation package**

What you'll do
  • Develop, manage, publish, and communicate monthly maintenance work plans for the assets within designated area(s)
  • Build work plans for major activities that could significantly impact system operations if not executed successfully and escalate to Maintenance Program Manager for review
  • Publish work plans monthly and update them weekly
  • Monitor execution of the work plans, assess and report on the effectiveness of work plans
  • Work with area leaders to schedule and assign work from the work plans and SAP backlog on a weekly basis
  • Be responsible for training, operation qualifications, regulatory, and compliance schedules
  • Maintain up-to-date regional technician availability (including time allocated for training, administrative activities, and not available for work time)
  • Ensure adjustments to the standard maintenance programs resulting from the development of equipment plans are properly processed and incorporated into the computerized maintenance management systems
  • Manage the collection and completion of revisions to entity management information for systems and equipment that is installed, replaced, or retired
  • Work with all critical stakeholders to ensure alignment with project plans and schedules
  • Collaborate with Commercial Operations to gain acceptance/approval of outage plans
  • Other tasks as required


Minimum Qualifications
  • Technical school graduation or associate degree
  • 3 or more years of related experience in pipeline operations, project management and/or work planning and scheduling
  • Working knowledge and expertise with CMMS systems for work planning and information retrieval, specifically SAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to monitor and assess changing resource demands and make suitable adjustments to existing plans with limited management guidance
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills
  • Must have high level of emotional intelligence and people relations skills to effectively operate in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with Field Teams and Area Leadership
  • Ability to coordinate work with other appropriate technical resources as needed
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to handle rapidly shifting priorities and multiple projects concurrently, requiring resolution of complex problems in stressful situations
  • Ability and initiative to work independently, display creativity, and exercise sound judgement


Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiar with project management practices
  • Understanding of organization change management
  • Experience with Power Apps, power automate, Power Bi, and access


This position requires candidates to:
  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Be subject to callouts with extended workdays/weeks as required to complete assignments or emergency support.
  • Travel occasionally to other company locations, which may include air travel and overnight stays.
