Full Job Description
Position Overview:

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce seeks an Account Executive to join our team and contribute to the growth of the Chamber's small business membership. The candidate will work directly with small business CEOs, lead new member sales and membership renewals, and manage the complete sales cycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the membership renewal sales cycle from start to finish, pitching directly to small business owners and CEOs.
  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the issues in Washington, D.C., globally, and in the markets that impact the business community.
  • Work creatively and collaboratively with policy expert colleagues and research leaders.
  • Meet or exceed annual revenue goals at the individual and team levels.
  • Stay engaged and up to date about Chamber policy priorities and advocacy efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Chamber's Membership team.


Qualifications:
  • 2-5+ years' experience in a fundraising/sales or business development role.
  • Superior relationship management experience and sales skills.
  • Strong presentation and persuasion skills.
  • Confidence when conversing with business owners and leaders.
  • Demonstrated phone sales with a record of meeting sales goals.
  • A growth and learning mindset characterized by an openness to challenging assumptions at the organizational and personal levels.
  • Strong techniques around guiding sales messaging with diplomacy and sensitivity to a range of audiences.
  • Organizational and business savvy.
  • Ability to effectively articulate the Chamber value proposition to our members, with an interest in politics and policy and an appreciation for the contributions that the Chamber makes to the business community at large.
  • Highly collaborative and a self-starter.
  • Data-driven approach to utilizing a CRM, such as Salesforce, to track progress, identify trends, and drive results.


Compensation for this role includes a base salary and performance-based commissions and bonuses. The total target compensation (base salary + commission) is designed to reward results and performance and typically ranges from $50,000 to $140,000 annually. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant's qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, performance, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
