Engineering - Manufacturing Engineer | Orlando, Florida, United States Job Summary: Special Process Manufacturing Engineer - 1st Shift (4/10A)

Location: Orlando, FL, 32819, United States
Experience: 15 Years
Employment Type: Full Time

Responsibilities

- Develop, optimize, and document special processes for high-precision manufacturing operations
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Industrial Engineers, along with shop floor teams, to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Design and update work instructions, rework procedures, and shop-floor documentation
- Create innovative fixture and tooling concepts and detailed drawings to support production
- Lead root cause analysis investigations for component non-conformances and implement corrective actions
- Monitor and report on project quality, schedule adherence, and cost performance
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to reduce defects and enhance productivity
- Train and mentor team members; proactively pursue ongoing learning and professional development
- Ensure compliance with military and industry specifications (ISO9000, AS9100) for materials, paints, and coatings
- Support safe handling, usage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and maintain PPE compliance

Required Skills and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience/education
- Minimum 3 years' experience in manufacturing engineering within a production environment
- Hands-on expertise with painting, priming, plating, and coating lines
- Strong background in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Skilled in authoring and updating work and rework instructions
- Proficient in non-conforming material procedures and material review board (MRB) processes
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams for process improvement and defect reduction
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and military specifications
- Demonstrated continuous improvement and Lean 6S skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities

Preferred Skills

- Familiarity with CARC paint, nickel plating, passivation, and related surface preparation procedures
- Experience with capital investment and automation in masking/painting/coating operations
- Skilled in precision measuring tools and gauges
- Experience with 3D printing and designing application tooling
- Proficient in CAD platforms such as CREO or NX
- Hands-on validation of chemical solutions, plating lines, and production equipment
- Experience in hazardous chemical handling, disposal, and monitoring DI water systems
