Pinterest is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our iOS Modernization team in Toronto. You'll lead the engineering team that is empowering iOS developers at Pinterest to build modern, world-class app experiences for Pinners and advertisers with high productivity, performance, and quality.
What you'll do:
• Lead, coach and grow a specialized team of iOS engineers.
• Set the team's technical vision and roadmap in partnership with Client Platforms and cross-functional product teams.
• Drive platform modernization that helps product teams adopt modern client architectures and build high-quality experiences.
• Improve client stability, health metrics, browser compatibility, runtime frameworks and critical dependency currency.
• Establish clear operating rhythms for planning, two-week sprints, risk management and monthly stakeholder updates.
• Hire, onboard and develop engineers, creating an inclusive, high-performing team with clear expectations and growth opportunities.
• Use AI to accelerate engineering workflows and modernization while applying judgment and verification to maintain code quality, security and reliability.
What we're looking for:
• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years of engineering management experience, with strong iOS technical depth and judgment. Ability to engage in architecture and design reviews, challenge tradeoffs, and uphold a high bar for execution quality.
• Experience partnering with Senior and Staff engineers to build high-impact roadmaps; aligning priorities across teams; and driving delivery through ambiguity and competing stakeholder needs.
• Experience building platform capabilities that improve product-engineering productivity and effectiveness, while improving engineering quality, client reliability, platform health, and developer velocity.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build alignment across engineering and product partners.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day workflows, with a strong practice of validating AI-assisted work and maintaining ownership of final outcomes.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience.
