The Advisor Platform team builds systems that help financial advisors serve their clients through scalable, reliable technology. The team develops backend infrastructure that supports advanced financial products, with a focus on availability, performance, and secure data handling. You'll work closely with product managers and data teams to deliver systems that support new customer experiences and expand into additional product areas. The team values thoughtful system design, measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement while helping shape the future of advisory services!

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead engineers responsible for designing and delivering backend systems that operate at scale. You will guide architectural decisions, support engineers in solving complex technical challenges, and ensure systems meet reliability and performance expectations. You will partner with product managers, legal, compliance, and operations teams to align technical execution with business priorities and customer needs. In addition, you will support career development, team effectiveness, and consistent delivery across key initiatives.

This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA and New York, NY offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 5 days per week.

What you'll do
  • Lead, mentor, and support the growth of a team of software engineers while fostering an inclusive and collaborative engineering culture.
  • Define and execute the technical roadmap for brokerage services, balancing platform improvements with delivery of new capabilities.
  • Work with product managers, legal, compliance, and operations teams to design reliable financial workflows and customer-facing systems.
  • Establish operational metrics, architectural standards, and monitoring practices that improve system reliability, performance, and availability.
  • Contribute to organizational planning, resource allocation, and technical direction across the Brokerage Engineering organization.
What you bring
  • You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, including experience managing engineers or engineering teams.
  • You have experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems with a focus on reliability and performance.
  • You have delivered complex technical initiatives from planning through execution.
  • You communicate effectively with both technical and business partners.
  • You support team development through coaching, feedback, and structured growth planning.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

Base Pay Range:

Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC)

$230,000-$270,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)

$203,000-$238,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)

$180,000-$211,000 USD
