Job Summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity in Ground Systems Engineering to join our team located in Englewood, CO.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Individual contributor supporting the Ground Segment IPT for assigned program, following the solution/product through all phases as needed.
  • Develops ground system requirements to support space missions and operation needs, ensuring test driven requirements and development.
  • Ensures an integrated ground solution (internal, COTS, FOSS) that supports the space mission CONOPS.
  • Uses an MBSE approach for the design, development, integration, and testing of the ground system.
  • Supports development of ICDs, test plans/procedures, and ground and operation related program documentation.
  • Collaborates with all levels of engineering staff on design, integration, and test matters; supports design of new space systems (requirements alignment, design reviews, verification, and test support); and assists other teams/disciplines as necessary.
  • Troubleshoots, analyzes, and supports resolution of system issues in assigned areas using standard engineering and scientific principles.
  • Develop training material and provide documentation and technical presentations to support operational readiness.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information and complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies; expected to work safely in accordance with established procedures and practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelors or masters degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelors degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • Must be able to quickly understand new concepts, apply them accurately in an evolving environment, and organize work assignments to meet established schedules.
  • Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must be customer focused and able to work independently or in a team environment, and able to work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI security clearance is required.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience using SysML and MagicDraw to develop and maintain system models for end-to-end systems.
  • Prior systems engineering experience supporting development of satellite command and control and mission planning systems.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
