POSITION SUMMARY

The Electrician is responsible for leading, planning, and executing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and capital improvement activities to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This role serves as the technical expert for electrical systems, providing guidance to maintenance personnel, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The Master Electrician develops team capability through training and mentorship while supporting BAC's values of Courage, Innovation, Responsibility, and Trust.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, coordinate, and execute electrical maintenance activities, equipment rebuilds, installations, and capital projects.
• Analyze equipment failures and operational issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Design, install, document, and maintain electrical systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, motor controls, and power distribution systems.
• Install and wire 3-phase and single-phase electrical systems, including motors, motor controls, transformers, PLCs, switches, sensors, and transmitters.
• Accurately complete departmental paperwork, reports, and required system transactions.
• Assist with sustaining Lean Manufacturing principles within assigned work areas.
• Executes against standard processes and Key Performance Indicators (KPls) as defined in the global operating standard established in BAC Excellence (BAC-X) including Global Assembly Standardization (GAS) expectations.
• Maintain punctual and regular attendance. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area and comply with all safety regulations.
• Adapt to changing job schedules and shifting production priorities.
• Demonstrate consistent performance in productivity, safety, and work habits.
• Understand upstream and downstream customer impacts and contribute to quality and on time delivery.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned by leadership.
• Ability to recognize when the machinery is not running well, trouble shoot and identify issues, adjust as needed.

• Ability to work any shift as required to support business needs.
• Ability to remain flexible, self-motivated, and responsive in a fast-paced environment.
• NFPA 70E Arc Flash Certification preferred. If not certified at hire, employee must obtain certification and demonstrate competency within 90 days of the date of hire. Inability to meet this requirement may result in reassignment, downgrade, or removal from the position, subject to business needs and available positions.

• CPR Training Requirement: Employees exposed to electrical hazards must obtain CPR training in accordance with NFPA 70E and applicable OSHA standards upon assignment and must maintain current CPR certification to meet ongoing emergency response and safety requirements.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
• Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent vocational training in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
• Master Electrician License required or ability to obtain and maintain licensure.
• Minimum experience in industrial electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading projects, coordinating maintenance activities, and providing technical guidance to maintenance personnel.
• Demonstrated experience training, mentoring, and developing technicians.
• Experience working with preventative maintenance and work order management systems
• PLC programming experience required.
• Ability to work any shift; some travel may be required.

Technical Knowledge

• Advanced knowledge of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, and motor controls.
• Thorough understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and electrical regulations.
• Proficiency with 480V, 277V, and 240V electrical systems.
• Strong working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), ladder logic, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and industrial instrumentation.
• Ability to read, interpret, and develop electrical schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and related documentation.
• Skilled in electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Working knowledge of the NFPA 70E Arc Flash standard, hazard awareness, and PPE requirements.
• Ability to use electronic testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
• General understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Safety-minded with the ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with basic math and handheld measuring tools (tape measure, dial calipers, square, protractor, micrometers).
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft.

BAC Hiring Compensation Range: $38-45/hr.
