ELECTRICAL ENGINEER II

1. POSITION SNAPSHOT

In this role you will design, integrate, and support the electrical systems that power FlackTek's advanced industrial mixing and processing equipment. You will work across electrical design, machine integration, PCB development, and production support to ensure systems are reliable, manufacturable, and serviceable. This role plays a critical part in translating engineering intent into robust, real-world machine performance through hands-on involvement in builds, commissioning, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and service teams to deliver high-quality electrical architectures and drive long-term system reliability.

This role reports to the: Engineering Director

2. PRIMARY OUTCOMES
  • Electrical designs released on schedule = 95 percent adherence
  • First-pass success rate for panels and PCBs = 90 percent
  • Reduction in electrical-related production issues = 25 percent year over year
  • Electrical subsystem validation pass rate = 95 percent
  • Documentation accuracy and completeness score = 95 percent
  • Average response time to production and service issues = 24 hours
  • Reduction in recurring electrical failures = 30 percent

3. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design electrical systems including power distribution, safety circuits, and control systems
  • Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and documentation
  • Select components based on reliability, cost, and availability
  • Design wiring harnesses and control panels for industrial equipment
  • Support grounding, shielding, and noise mitigation strategies
  • Integrate electrical systems with PLC-based controls and machine systems
  • Support I/O mapping, sensor validation, and motor and drive integration
  • Assist with machine bring-up, commissioning, and debugging
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues in development and production
  • Design PCBs for sensor interfaces, embedded systems, and power distribution
  • Generate PCB manufacturing documentation including layouts and BOMs
  • Coordinate with PCB vendors for fabrication and assembly
  • Prototype and validate PCB designs through testing and integration
  • Support electrical validation and system-level testing
  • Investigate failures and perform root-cause analysis
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision control
  • Participate in design reviews and engineering change processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, production, and service


4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience:
    • 3 to 7 years of experience in industrial electrical system design or machine automation
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in electrical schematics, control panels, PLC I/O integration, and industrial components
    • Experience with ECAD tools such as Altium, KiCad, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or SolidWorks Electrical
    • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities
    • Hands-on experience working with wiring, hardware, and machine systems


5. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Experience with servo systems, VFDs, industrial networking, or embedded systems
    • Experience supporting manufacturing environments, production builds, or new product introductions
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Familiarity with UL508A, IEC, CE, EMI, ESD, and IPC standards
    • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as CANbus, Modbus, EtherCAT, or Ethernet/IP
    • Exposure to embedded firmware or low-level hardware integration
  • Growth & Advancement:
    • Demonstrated success in this role can lead to progression into Senior Electrical Engineer, Lead Electrical Engineer, Controls and Electrical Architect, or Engineering Leadership roles through increased ownership of system architecture, reliability improvements, and cross-functional technical leadership

7. WORK LOCATION, SCHEDULE & TRAVEL
  • Role Type: Full Time - Exempt
  • Location: Onsite, in person in Louisville, CO
  • Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm
  • Travel: Up to 10% (domestic)


8. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Compensation:
    • Annual Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $135,000 annually
