What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a motived EHS Supervisor to support our Liquified Natural Gas (LNG), Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) and Gas-to-Electric (GTE) facilities. This role is responsible for leading site-level safety initiatives, supporting security programs, and providing technical expertise in occupational health and industrial hygiene to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical expertise to ensure compliance with all applicable Health & Safety regulations, goals, policies, and procedures. Provide advice and guidance on interpretation/application of regulations and internal procedures related to Health & Safety. Must possess a strong understanding of federal and applicable state OSHA regulations
  • Develop initiatives to improve safety culture within the CO2 business unit. Drive the development and continuous improvement of Safety issues and initiatives
  • Provide a visible presence at facilities within the business unit and respond to concerns raised by employees
  • Maintain required EHS metrics for internal and external reporting and ensure EHS systems and applications accurately reflect performance
  • Coordinate safety and health required training programs, serving as a subject matter expert on training requirements, frequency, and content
  • Deliver instructor led and hands-on trainings
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory and government agencies, coordinating communications, inspections, permitting, and reporting to ensure operational continuity and compliance
  • Lead incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Coordinate emergency response and security drills and exercises, including training
  • Respond to incidents, as required
  • Participate in internal audits and follow up actions
  • Represent the business unit in various corporate work groups
  • Consistently maintain and demonstrate a high regard for personal safety and the safety of people, environment, and company assets
  • Collaborate with Operations Support Group (OSG) to achieve compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and internal requirements
  • Assist in continued implementation of and adherence to the Company's EHS Management Plan
  • Support operations with compliance of applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
  • Facilitate Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews (PSSR)
  • Promote Behavior Based Safety principles
  • Lead development and enhancement of compliance review policies and procedures
  • Provide support for DOT CDL operations regarding compliance, inspections, etc.
  • Provide support for operations with damage prevention activities per Kinder Morgan procedures/policies
  • Will carry a company-provided cell phone/pager and respond during working and non-working hours
  • Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned

*Travel required to provide support to assets across the Mid-West with a Central location of Indianapolis, IN

What You Need

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in environmental, health, and/or safety for oil and LNG/natural gas production operations, or 10 years of experience in oil and gas production operations

Certifications, Licenses, or Registrations
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and meet Company insurability requirements.
  • OSHA certification desired

Competencies, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient computer skills and use of applicable computer applications such as MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Accurately and promptly loads and verifies data and generates reports based on standard procedures
  • Demonstrates a highly competent working knowledge of technology, applications, terminology, and procedures required of the job function
  • Ability to apply extensive knowledge and experience to a wide variety of situations and recommend solutions and improvements
  • Typically viewed as a technical expert and/or leader in safety
  • Works independently to perform more complex analysis
  • Monitors new technologies and draws upon expertise to make recommendations for further exploitation of existing technologies
  • Mentors and trains less experienced EHS specialists/technicians and/or other co-workers.
  • Generates and completes efficiency/improvement projects
  • Ability to work with others, take direction from supervisor(s), focus attention on details, and follow work rules

  • Wear required personal protective equipment

Working Conditions
  • Combination of field, plant, and office-based work locations
  • Working after hours, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call as needed
  • Day and overnight trips to assets as required

Above minimum requirements. Not necessary but advantageous for the position
  • College degree or OSHA Certification
  • Prior supervisory experience managing direct reports
  • 7+ years of EHS experience in LNG or natural gas
  • 10+ years oil/gas experience in operations
