What Will You Do?

Serves as a senior technical leader and hands-on developer responsible for the architecture, development, and evolution of Optimizely Commerce-based eCommerce solutions across The Toro Company's eBusiness portfolio. Partners closely with internal business stakeholders and product owners to deliver scalable, high-quality commerce experiences. This includes new builds, platform enhancements, and ongoing maintenance of on-premises and hybrid implementations.

What Do You Need?

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Optimizely Commerce solutions, including new feature development, platform enhancements, and maintenance of existing implementations.
  • Serve as the technical authority for Optimizely Commerce architecture decisions, establishing and enforcing standards for development, integration, and deployment practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers, performing code reviews and fostering a positive culture through knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with team members and product owners throughout the full development lifecycle from feature definition and solution design through delivery, testing, and support.
  • Design and develop integrations between Optimizely Commerce and enterprise systems including ERP, CRM, PIM, payment gateways, and internal/external APIs.
  • Produce clear, thorough technical documentation including solution design, integration specifications, and support procedures to ensure long-term maintainability and team knowledge.
  • Drive performance tuning, scalability improvements, and automation efforts to increase platform stability and delivery efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and platform capabilities relevant to the eCommerce ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across IT and the business to communicate solutions, status, risks, and results in a clear and timely manner.
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality solutions within Agile/Scrum sprint cycles.

Education & Experience

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience considered.
  • 7+ years of overall software development experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with an enterprise eCommerce platform; Optimizely Commerce strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical design and architecture for eCommerce solutions.

eCommerce Platform Experience:

  • Optimizely Commerce implementation, customization, and ongoing maintenance
  • Catalog management, order management, pricing, promotions, and customer/account models

Design & Development:

  • .NET / C# — ASP.NET MVC, Web API
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • SQL Server
  • Full-stack development experience, with the ability to own both front-end storefront layers and back-end API development

Integration Experience:

  • ERP, CRM, and PIM system integrations
  • Payment gateway integration
  • RESTful APIs and Web Services (REST, SOAP, WCF)
  • Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

DevOps & Environment:

  • Azure DevOps (source control, CI/CD pipelines, work tracking)
  • On-premises and cloud deployment experience

Preferred Skills

  • Optimizely Commerce Developer Certification (or willingness to obtain post-hire)
  • Experience with headless or composable commerce architectures
  • Front-end frameworks like React, Redux, TypeScript, Node, etc
  • Familiarity with PIM platforms and product data syndication

A reasonable estimate of the annual pay range is between ​$120,000​ - ​$160,000 Cash compensation is one piece of our competitive total rewards package.
