Acumatica is seeking a highly influential technical leader to help lead Acumatica's next phase of transformation in the AI era. This role is ideal for a distinguished technologist who combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, strong execution capabilities, and the ability to influence across teams and organizations.

As a Distinguished Engineer/Architect reporting to the Chief Engineering Officer you will lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives across AI-enabled product innovation and engineering productivity. You will work closely with platform, AI/ML, product, and application engineering leaders to accelerate adoption of AI capabilities across the company and shape how Acumatica builds and delivers software in the AI era.

This is an individual contributor leadership role with broad organizational influence. Success in this role requires the ability to lead through technical credibility, collaboration, coaching, and execution rather than formal authority. The ideal candidate combines long-term strategic thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to driving measurable outcomes.

Key Areas of Impact

AI Transformation

Drive the adoption of AI across Acumatica's products and workflows to help customers achieve better outcomes faster.

• Partner with AI/ML, platform, product, and application teams to define and scale AI-powered product capabilities.
• Guide application teams in leveraging Acumatica's AI building blocks, orchestration infrastructure, and platform services to deliver intelligent, agentic customer experiences.
• Influence application architecture, design patterns, and engineering practices required for scalable AI adoption.
• Help identify and deliver high-impact customer scenarios where AI can deliver measurable business value through automation, insights, and workflow acceleration.

Productivity Transformation

Help transform Acumatica's engineering lifecycle through effective adoption of modern AI-assisted development practices.

• Stay at the forefront of industry trends, tooling, and best practices in AI-enabled software development.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, engineering quality, and delivery efficiency using AI.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices across BA, development, and QA teams.
• Partner with engineering leaders to evolve how software is designed, built, tested, and maintained at scale.

Additional Responsibilities

• Define and influence long-term AI and engineering transformation strategy across the company.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive movements to help shape Acumatica's technical direction and investment priorities.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to align technical strategy with customer and business priorities.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance, architectural leadership, and mentorship across teams.
• Lead through influence by aligning stakeholders, building consensus, and driving execution across organizational boundaries.
• Represent Acumatica externally with customers, partners, analysts, and at industry events and conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field. Advanced degree (MS or PhD) is a plus.
• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience leading large-scale technical initiatives in SaaS or cloud-based enterprise software environments.
• Proven experience delivering and productizing AI/ML capabilities in enterprise applications.
• Strong enterprise application architecture experience with the ability to balance innovation, scalability, quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Experience driving engineering transformation initiatives, including modern software development practices and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to influence across organizations, align senior stakeholders, and lead complex initiatives without direct authority.
• Deep technical credibility with the ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on when needed.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to align engineering, product, and executive stakeholders.
• Experience working in fast-moving product organizations is a plus.
• Experience with partnerships, acquisitions, or ecosystem strategy in the AI/ML space is a plus.

Additional Information

For this role, the salary range is $240,000-275,000 annually. This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job and may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant elements.

At Acumatica, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
