What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC's team, the Director, Strategy & Growth is a seasoned professional responsible for leading and executing key growth initiatives to drive business growth and operational excellence for CIBC Insurance. The role identifies opportunities through market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and collaboration with internal teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivering measurable outcomes. The Director, Strategy & Growth supports the development of the insurance divisional strategy by providing insights, market analysis, and actionable recommendations, while developing business cases and linking operational efficiencies to cost reductions to ensure sustainable financial performance. The role coordinates cross-functional initiatives by focusing on strategy development, stakeholder engagement, and fostering alignment across teams, acting as a liaison between CIBC Insurance and the broader bank. The Director, Strategy & Growth also drives operational excellence by analyzing and enhancing internal processes, leveraging data-driven insights to recommend improvements that support long-term success. Additionally, the role enhances the visibility and impact of CIBC Insurance by promoting key initiatives, showcasing contributions, and fostering collaboration across internal teams, while keeping senior leadership informed of achievements and creating opportunities to highlight the team's strategic value. How you'll succeed
  • Strategic growth initiatives - Lead and execute on key growth initiatives to drive business growth and operational excellence for CIBC Insurance. Identify opportunities through market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and collaboration with internal teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivering measurable outcomes. Drive innovation by identifying emerging trends and implementing forward-thinking strategies to position CIBC Insurance for future success.
  • Strategic planning - Support the development of the insurance divisional strategy by providing insights, market analysis, and actionable recommendations. Develop business cases, link operational efficiencies to cost reductions, and monitor KPIs to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and sustainable financial performance. Collaborate with senior leadership to define focus areas, set objectives, and influence strategic decision-making to achieve divisional goals.
  • Partner engagement - Coordinate cross-functional initiatives by focusing on strategy development, stakeholder engagement, and fostering alignment across teams. Build strong relationships with internal and external partners, act as a liaison between CIBC Insurance and the broader bank, and implement systems to track and address feedback. Lead collaborative efforts to ensure successful execution of priorities and drive accountability across teams.
  • Operational excellence - Analyze and enhance internal processes to ensure efficiency, cohesion, and alignment with organizational goals. Leverage data-driven insights to recommend improvements that drive impact. Lead initiatives to streamline operations, implement best practices, and ensure the division is well-positioned to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Elevating the CIBC insurance brand - Enhance the visibility and impact of CIBC Insurance by promoting key initiatives, showcasing contributions, and fostering collaboration across internal teams. Keep senior leadership informed of achievements, create opportunities to highlight the team's impact, and strengthen internal awareness of CIBC Insurance's strategic value. Drive internal sponsorship and recognition for the division's contributions, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and fostering greater visibility across the enterprise.
