Full Job Description
The Opportunity

The Director of Strategic Execution plays a critical leadership role in translating Canopy's strategy into results. This individual acts as a central force in ensuring that the company's strategic priorities are clearly defined, rigorously executed, and consistently delivered across the organization.

Working directly with the SVP, Supply Chain & Transformation and in close partnership with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), this leader will drive enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, establish disciplined execution practices, and embed a high-performance operating rhythm across the business. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, transformation, and execution-someone equally comfortable shaping direction and driving accountability to outcomes.

Responsibilities

Enterprise Strategy Execution
  • Partner with the ELT to operationalize Canopy's 3-year strategic plan, ensuring clear alignment between strategy, priorities, and execution
  • Translate enterprise strategy into actionable initiatives, with defined scopes, milestones, owners, and measurable outcomes
  • Establish and lead a centralized view of all strategic initiatives, ensuring prioritization, resource alignment, and delivery against commitments
  • Drive clarity, focus, and accountability across initiatives to ensure tangible business impact and value realization

Strategic Initiatives & Program Leadership
  • Lead a portfolio of cross-functional, enterprise-level strategic initiatives from ideation through execution and value capture
  • Mobilize and lead cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment across business units and functions
  • Identify risks, remove barriers, and proactively course-correct initiatives to maintain momentum
  • Ensure consistent use of best-practice program management and structured problem-solving methodologies

Transformation Leadership
  • Support end-to-end transformation initiatives, including operating model redesign, cost optimization, supply chain improvements, and organizational effectiveness
  • Act as a catalyst for change, helping the organization accelerate decision-making and execution despite competing operational pressures
  • Partner with business leaders to embed new ways of working and ensure sustained adoption of changes
  • Support corporate development initiatives, including integration planning and execution for M&A activities

Operating Model & Performance Management
  • Design and institutionalize a best-in-class strategic execution framework, including governance, decision rights, and execution cadence
  • Develop and implement performance management systems (KPIs, dashboards, operating reviews) to track progress against strategic priorities
  • Support a rigorous operating rhythm (e.g., MBRs, initiative reviews, executive updates) to drive transparency and accountability
  • Elevate performance across sites and functions by introducing structured continuous improvement and problem-solving practices

Experience

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree; MBA, Masters, PhD, etc. a desirable bonus
  • 6-9 years of experience in management consulting, internal transformation, strategy, or operational excellence roles
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives through to execution
  • Strong structuring, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to operate comfortably between executive leadership and operational teams
  • Experience in operations-heavy, regulated, or manufacturing environments
  • Prior exposure to large-scale transformation, integration, or performance improvement programs
  • Experience building or implementing operating models, KPIs, or governance structures
