Role

The Director, Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk Run and Analytics, will lead the technology teams responsible for production support, analytics platforms, and critical risk calculation systems supporting Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk.

This role is accountable for ensuring stability, reliability, and effective delivery across three core areas:
    • Run and Production Support
    • Analytics Platforms
    • VaR and Stress Testing Systems


The successful candidate will bring strong Capital Markets Risk knowledge, deep technology leadership experience, and the ability to influence both internal teams and senior stakeholders to build a stable, scalable, and future-proof technical environment. The use of AI, automation, and modern engineering practices is becoming a core expectation for this role.

What will we expect from you?

Run and Production Support
  • Lead the enhanced support team responsible for day-to-day production stability across Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk applications.
  • Partner closely with Risk Officers, Trading users, Front Office stakeholders, and Technology teams to resolve issues quickly and reduce recurring production riskAct as the technology gatekeeper to production, ensuring changes, releases, configurations, and deployments follow appropriate testing, controls, release management, and risk review processes.
  • Maintain strong oversight of production health, including incident management, SLA performance, stability metrics, resiliency, and operational risk reduction.
  • Ensure high availability, integrity, and reliability of critical risk systems and business processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in support practices, monitoring, automation, incident prevention, and root cause remediation.


Analytics Platforms
  • Lead the analytics technology team supporting capital calculation, business intelligence, reporting, and analytics capabilities for Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk.
  • Oversee platforms and capabilities including LMS(Limit Management System), Tableau, Power BI, and FRTB Aggregation.
  • Ensure analytics solutions are stable, scalable, well-controlled, and aligned with business needs.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define priorities, manage delivery, and improve the usability, quality, and reliability of analytics outputs.
  • Drive modernization of analytics platforms, including automation, self-service reporting, data quality improvements, and adoption of AI-enabled capabilities where appropriate.
  • Rationalize applications by migrating to enterprise approved targets and manage the application hygiene such as end of life, vulnerabilities and cyber security aspects, and reducing manual work for app hygiene with AI-enabled capabilities.


VaR and Stress Testing Systems
  • Lead the technology team responsible for the critical VaR platform that produces VaR (Value at Risk), Stress Testing and PFE (Potential Future Exposure) outputs.
  • Ensure the VaR and Stress Testing platforms meet expectations for accuracy, timeliness, resiliency, auditability, and regulatory readiness.
  • Oversee operation support, enhancements, controls, and modernization of the VaR technology stack.
  • Partner with Market Risk, CCR (Counterparty Credit Risk), Model Risk, Quants, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to strengthen the platform and reduce operational risk.
  • Ensure the platform can support evolving business, regulatory, and risk management requirements.


Strategic Leadership
  • Influence the technology strategy for Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk by working with the team, stakeholders, and peer technology leaders to define a future-proof architecture.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to challenge, escalate, and drive upstream teams to resolve recurring production, data, and process issues at their source.
  • Build and execute a roadmap that improves system stability, scalability, resiliency, controls, and engineering efficiency.
  • Promote AI, automation, and modern engineering practices to reduce manual effort, improve production support, and accelerate delivery.
  • Provide technical direction and challenge existing practices where needed to improve long-term platform health.
  • Negotiate priorities, timelines, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Communicate clearly with senior leadership on production risk, delivery status, strategic priorities, and investment needs.


People Leadership
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of technology professionals across support, analytics, and risk systems delivery.
  • Ensure the team has the right structure, skills, procedures, and governance to support critical risk platforms.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and production discipline.
  • Develop talent, support succession planning, and create opportunities for team members to grow.
  • Promote collaboration across Technology, Risk, Front Office, Infrastructure, Data, and Engineering teams.


What You Will Bring to Succeed

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Risk Technology, Capital Markets Technology, or a related technology leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Capital Markets Risk, including Market Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, VaR, Stress Testing, FRTB, risk monitoring, capital requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Proven experience leading teams responsible for production support, technology delivery, and complex risk platforms.
  • Experience supporting business-critical systems used by Market Risk, Credit Risk, Trading, Sales, or Front Office users.
  • Strong understanding of production controls, change management, incident management, release governance, and operational risk reduction.
  • Experience with analytics and reporting platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.
  • Strong technical background, including experience with Python, Bash scripts, SQL, databases, data platforms, application architecture, and modern software delivery practices.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and technology teams to align on strategy, priorities, and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technology and risk issues to senior management.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with VaR, Stress Testing, FRTB Aggregation, LMS, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Python, Java, Linux, databases, infrastructure, networking, and cloud or distributed architecture.
  • Experience modernizing legacy platforms and improving resiliency of business-critical systems.
  • Experience using AI, automation, or advanced monitoring to improve support, delivery, and operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with regulatory, audit, and control expectations for risk technology platforms.
