The Canada Operations 1st Line Risk and Controls team is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, and analytical leader to join us as
Director, Risk Quality Continuous Improvement. In this role, you will play a key part in representing Canada Operations as we transform the core components of our Operational Risk Management Framework.
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-driven professional with strong knowledge of Manulife's Operational Risk program and a proven track record in transformational design. This role will focus on developing and enhancing the Quality Management Program (QMP) within Canada Operations, requiring strong facilitation, collaboration, and influencing skills. Success will depend on the ability to work closely with business leaders, functional partners, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders to drive meaningful risk and quality improvements.
Key Accountabilities:- Lead the redevelopment and execution of core elements within the Operational Risk Management Framework.
- Drive transformational design of key quality management components, including quality measurement, reporting and insights, error and feedback management, audit performance, and reportable events.
- Provide an objective assessment of the business control environment, mitigation strategies, emerging risks, and potential control gaps.
- Perform and/or lead controls testing on high-risk transactions and recommend opportunities for process and control improvements.
- Monitor risk and control issues, maintain the controls inventory, and conduct root cause analysis for operational incidents or errors.
- Build strong relationships with business and functional partners, contribute to risk reporting, and deliver presentations to senior audiences.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; operational risk certification is an asset.
- 10+ years of related experience with strong knowledge of business processes, risks, controls, and operational risk management methodologies.
- Proven experience leading high-performing teams and driving transformational design initiatives.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex risk and control topics clearly to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and risk assessment skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information, challenge the status quo, and support strategic decision-making.

Salary range is expected to be between$123,100.00 CAD - $173,100.00 CAD
