Position Overview:
Serves in a provider setting and assists in achieving the mission to safeguard people, property, assets, and brand in the course of providing world-class quality and affordable care to its communities. Is a single-source Protective Services subject matter expert who provides security solutions, alternatives, and recommendations across the full spectrum of the service line, to include risk-based staffing, investigative support, loss prevention, incident reporting/critical notifications, incident analysis, crime prevention, risk assessments, law enforcement liaison, special event support, and workplace violence prevention to mitigate reasonably foreseeable risks that have the potential to disrupt the delivery of patient care.

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
  • 12 years recent relevant experience.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Solid expertise in formal/structured security risk assessment methodology, including the ability to mitigate risk by synchronizing the efforts and capabilities of people, process, and technology.
  • In-depth knowledge of building security staffing models; developing post/patrol strategies; effectively applying security technologies; and coherently blending all program elements with tailored processes to effectively manage risk within a clinical environment.
  • Understanding of the business impact of security tools, technologies, and policies.
  • Broad working knowledge of health care operations and their related security requirements including, but not limited to, hospitals, clinics, medical offices, and their protective services needs.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of current and emerging physical security trends, risks, threats, countermeasures, vulnerabilities, and mitigations ranging across the spectrum from workplace violence to terrorism to loss prevention to behavioral challenges.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to give presentations and translate complex concepts into business and clinician relatable language.

Pay Range is $183,643.20 to $293,841.60 / annual salary

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health's comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
