Job Description

The Director, Product Management, is part of the Analytics & Investments (AIM) team within the Global Commercial Services Marketing (GCSM) organization at American Express. This role leads the team responsible for building advance targeting capabilities to drive revenue growth across prospect and customer marketing and sales channels.

The Director will partner closely with stakeholders across AIM, GCSM, Global Commercial Services, and Enterprise organizations in Tech to deliver AI-enabled, cloud-based data products and innovative solutions that enhance customer acquisition, lead management, and business performance. This highly visible leadership role represents a unique opportunity to influence enterprise strategy and deliver incremental revenue impact exceeding $50 million.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, development, and evolution of enterprise targeting, decisioning, and data services platforms that enable customer acquisition, marketing, sales, and analytics.
  • Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for AI-enabled targeting, decisioning, and activation capabilities, aligning investments with business and enterprise priorities.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Data Science, Technology, and Enterprise stakeholders to deliver AI-enabled products and data capabilities that accelerate customer acquisition, lead management, and revenue growth.
  • Drive modernization of targeting and activation platforms through cloud-native technologies, APIs, AI/Generative AI, workflow automation, and next-generation data services.
  • Establish product governance, platform performance metrics, and data quality standards to ensure scalability, reliability, responsible AI adoption, and operational excellence.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with external data, technology, and AI providers while optimizing platform capabilities and business value.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience leading enterprise data platforms, data products, or data services.
  • Experience defining product strategy, roadmap, and delivery for enterprise data platforms.
  • Experience leveraging Generative AI technologies to develop innovative products, automate workflows, or enhance business capabilities.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, project management, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
  • Experience working within Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Lean Portfolio Management, or similar Agile delivery methodologies, with a demonstrated track record of flexibility, resilience, and a strong can-do attitude
    Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning applications for marketing, targeting, and customer engagement.
  • Experience managing strategic technology and data vendor relationships.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure) and modern data technologies.
