Role overviewThis is a pivotal leadership role at a critical inflection point. The Director of Human Resources will own and evolve the People function, partnering directly with the COO and executive team, along with the Director of Talent Acquisition to scale the organization thoughtfully and effectively.
This leader will bring a rare combination of experience: the operational rigor of a larger organization and the adaptability and build mentality of a startup environment.
*This is an onsite role located in NYC, with an expectation of 4-5 days per week in the office.What you'll be doingStrategic HR Leadership- Develop and execute a multi-year People strategy aligned with business objectives and growth plans
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the COO and senior leadership team on organizational health, talent strategy, and workforce planning
- Translate business priorities into scalable HR programs, processes, and infrastructure
- Use data and analytics to inform decision-making and measure impact
- Lead or support post-close integration across people, systems, and culture
Talent & Performance Management- Oversee performance management frameworks, ensuring alignment with company goals and accountability at all levels
- Partner closely with the Director of Talent Acquisition to align hiring strategy with business needs
- Develop programs to assess, develop, and retain top talent
- Elevate manager capability through coaching, training, and tools
Employee Experience- Lead employee engagement initiatives and continuously improve the employee experience
- Ensure strong onboarding, offboarding, and lifecycle processes
- Oversee office operations to ensure the office space is a well stocked and welcoming place to work
- Oversee planning and execution of company events and internal gatherings to support culture, engagement, and team cohesion
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion across all programs and practices
Employee Relations & Compliance- Oversee employee relations, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant practices
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Partner with Legal on risk mitigation and policy development
What you have- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles
- Experience in both large, complex organizations and high-growth startup environments
- Demonstrated experience supporting post close integration work
- Experience partnering with executive leadership teams
- Comfort with operating at both strategic and tactical levels
CompensationThe anticipated annual base salary for this position is $170,000 - $200,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits for which an individual may be eligible (other benefits listed below). The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
