Position Overview:We are currently looking for an outstanding individual to join our fast-paced and rapidly growing Finance organization as Director, Fund Operations in Toronto. This person will play a pivotal role in helping us scale our platform and deliver exceptional investor and management services across our global ecosystem.
Compensation: CAD$170,000 to CAD$200,000Responsibilities:- Manage the finance team handling healthcare royalties and certain credit strategies, while advising on departmental responsibilities.
- Oversee complex fund structures across multiple jurisdictions, including closed-end funds, SPVs, and corporations.
- Collaborate closely with investment team members to provide financial support and reporting.
- Ensure accuracy in quarterly financial statements and investor reports across multiple entities.
- Supervise fund accounting activities, including journal entries, management fees, investments, accruals, and bank reconciliations.
- Plan and review capital activities, including capital calls, distributions, rebalances, and transfers.
- Coordinate year-end audits and regulatory requirements, and handle capital call notices, carried interest calculations, and rebalancing schedules.
- Lead recruitment, coaching, and development of the finance team in collaboration with HR.
- Manage relationships with service providers including fund administrators, banks, auditors, and advisers.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, oversee special projects, and handle ad-hoc data requests for internal teams.
- Identify and champion opportunities to leverage AI and automation tools to improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, and scalability across fund operations workflows.
Qualifications:- 10+ years of relevant managerial, fund operations, and administration experience, preferably with private funds.
- Experience in an asset management firm; exposure to audit, tax accounting, FATCA/CRS reporting, SLFI reporting, and level 3 valuation of investments is an asset.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CA/CPA certification with specialization in IFRS is an asset.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and articulate complex financial information concisely.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
