The Opportunity & TeamOmicron is hiring a
Director, Electrical Engineering to support our expanding portfolio of
commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional projects, and strengthen our integrated design-build delivery model. As our pipeline grows, this role plays a pivotal part in delivering smarter, more coordinated project outcomes informed by collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
You'll join the Electrical reporting to the Senior Vice President, Design & Engineering, and work closely with architects, engineers, designers, builders, and project managers. The team is known for
creative problem-solving, technical depth, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and you'll contribute to work that accelerates decision-making, deepens alignment across disciplines, and elevates project quality from concept to completion.
What You'll Do- Operations
- Plan and execute the electrical discipline's scope on all projects.
- Achieve financial objectives and manage discipline operating costs.
- Develop and monitor budgets for chargeability and overhead.
- Practice Excellence
- Drive technical innovation through new technologies, processes, and best practices.
- Position the discipline as an industry leader while supporting integration across teams.
- Strategy
- Lead the discipline's strategic planning activities and contribute to the development of goals, objectives and budgets to meet the discipline's requirements.
- Maintain a current understanding of the external market trends, economic influences, competition, and discipline innovations to inform Omicron's strategic direction.
- Business Development
- Represent Omicron as an integrated building solutions firm to win new business.
- Build and maintain strong industry relationships and networks.
- Identify opportunities for electrical engineering services and integrated design-build projects.
- Support proposals and client presentations with expert technical input.
- People Leadership
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering engagement and retention.
- Oversee performance management, training, and career development programs.
- Champion a culture of collaboration, open communication, and alignment with Omicron's Guiding Principles.
What You'll Bring- Core Skills
- Advanced knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, British Columbia Building Code, National Building Code and other regulations and able to apply to projects in their respective jurisdictions
- Conversant in the managing of the BIM/Revit modeling process applicable to defined project phases
- Effective leadership skills with a strong focus on mentoring and motivating staff
- Adept at leading, working and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary design/build environment
- Able to build and maintain trusting relationships internally and externally to the organization
- Professional Experience
- 10+ years of direct management experience as a design and/or construction professional
- 5+ years of experience in a multi-disciplinary environment in progressively more responsible positions
- Demonstrated expertise within design/build environment and remain current with trends, new technologies and methodologies
- Education, Certifications & Designations
- University degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited Canadian University or proof of equivalency
- P.Eng designation required

Total CompensationAt Omicron, compensation is transparent, fair, and designed to reflect your experience, contributions, and long-term growth.
The annual base salary range for this role is $160,000- $190,000. This range reflects progression from learning the ropes to consistently delivering excellence. Fully established hires typically start near the midpoint; the higher end is reserved for individuals who bring deep expertise and sustained impact. Offers below midpoint reflect strong potential with room to develop.
Total compensation is more than base salary. Your package includes:
